Hi im new here so sorry if this is a really simple question.

I have my xbox chipped and want to back up my HDD as it is the original and i want to put in a bigger one.
I cannot however connect an ftp program to my xbox,
I have my xbox connected to the 2nd lan port on my modem/router with a patch cable.

I have the correct ip address and password etc

I still however can not connect to the xbox

Any help would be appreciated
Thanks
Xombe
If you've done all of this, post the results of an ipconfig query.

Click Start -> Run -> type "cmd" (no quotes). Then in the command prompt that opens, type "ipconfig /all" (no quotes) and list all that info here, AS WELL AS the IP settings of your Xbox.

Yeah, the tuts for ftp are lame here. I'm going to make one soon, but basically, your xbox isn't looking for your internal address, you have to make a secondary address for your pc, unless you don't connect to the internet by auto settings. Thats what i had to do, on and evox is anoying to ftp with, try unleashx if you have it... found in the usual places.

huh.gif And mrRobinson's guide doesn't direct you to do precisely that...? What's more, the Xbox runs the FTP server, which isn't looking for anything. It the PC-side client that has to "look," right?

I'm 100% for new knowlege and the sharing of it. I'd be interested to see what kind of tutorial you put together that isn't "lame." smile.gif
