hey, im using xbmp 2.3, and it works perfectly. if i rename it to evoxdash.xbe (what my xecuter 4794 bios boots to) my box shows the blue X logo, and the xecuter logo, but it stays there. anyone know why? i can post my ini's and stuff if needed.

did you use the .cut file? also did you get an error message?
Ben999_
oh, and did you even copy all of the other files in the xbox media player folder to the root of your boot drive? I think if you use the .cut file you don't need to though

Had the same thing happen to me, do make sure that your cinfig.xml "Home" tag is set to look at your XBMP directory . And make sure that the .cut file on your C partition isis also pointing to the correct folder/partition.

i dont have a cut file, (i think its the xbmp shortcut file, like .lnk is for windows...) i just copied my whole c:appsxbmp2 folder to my c: drive. i'll check the config.xml and such now

Tried a newer CVS build?
razorrifh
no, but it shouldnt matter if it works for someone else. we all have the same hardware setup, heh. can someone post a config.xml that works as a dash?

I have posted a working config in the last day or so, think the post was called XBMP Freezes, seemed to help Reaven.. Hopefully it will help you.
The only files you need for XBMP as a dash on your C Partition are the XBMP.xbe file (renamed to evoxdash.xbe or your First boot name) and the .cut file which will redirect XBMP to find your XBMP folder on the F or E partition.

ive just set up xbmp as dash.

im my case i renamed evoxdash ---> evoxdash.old.xbe
The put xbmp `s default.xbe in c: and named it evoxdash.xbe
i also put "XBOX Media Player.cut" file in c:

it looks like this:

<shortcut>
<path>Harddisk0\Partition6\apps\xbplayer\xbplayer.xbe</path>
</shortcut>

then i did a change in xbmp´s config.xml, pointing to the evoxdash.old.xbe:

<dashboard>evoxdash.old.xbe</dashboard>
<shutdowntime>0</shutdowntime>
<sensitivity>0.2</sensitivity>
<xnsbuffer>8192</xnsbuffer>

At last i also changed a line in evox.ini to:

Item "Xbox Media Player - MP3 and DivX","c:evoxdash.xbe"

That should get you started.

the only thing i havent tried is a cut file, but i shouldnt need it cuz i have all the folders extracted to the root dir. i'll try it when i get home from school
