i need to know how to format the disk to get it back to normal or merge partitions.
i got slayer to run, flashed with evox m8, but the hd wasnt fresh, so its trying to use like 8gig of my 250gb hd. how do i fix this?
whosyodaddy1019
what exacly do you mean that its trying to use 8 gig. Do you mean that you only see 8 gig available or do you mean it partitioned 8 gig for the c and e drive?
foley7
it partitioned a preexisting partition, so it would only hold the app and one game, it says there is c,d,e,f,g,x,y,z

Still not quite clear on what you are sayin, you cant put a partition within a partion. R u sure there not just folders. like if you went to the c drive, does it show folders named c,e,f,g,x,y,z maybe? or are you saying you can see the drives but when you load you dashboard you only see the c,e,x,y,z drives?
whosyodaddy1019
also what chip, bois, and dashboard you using?

i want to start over. i used the xenium os 2.01 to do the retail hd set up to an upgraded hd. then i found out that i didnt know what i was doing. so i flashed the bioswith evox m8 then ran the slayer auto installer. i selected it to set up on upgraded hd and it appearently set up every thing in the 8gb retail partition. I dont want to use live on this so i dont care about the retail partition. i cant figure out what i need to do.

ok I think i understand now. So are you basically asking if you could just get rid of the C and E drives and just have the 250gig be the f and g drives? With a upgraded HD it will partion 8gig of the HDD for the c,e,x,y,z drives. This is something that as far as i know you cant get around. It needs those partions for the system to work. E drive is the partition that is use for game saves and XBL content. X,Y,Z are the cashe directorys. does that answer your question or am i off in my own world tongue.gif

sounds like you know how to fix my problem
whosyodaddy1019
sorry couldnt help more. I wanted to do the same thing awhile ago and wasnt able to. Unless you know how you write bioses and patch game files to not look for those drives, you just have to bite that 8 gig bullet. what I did instead was just use the E drive for all my apps, gamesaves, and XBL content. So was I right on what your problem was, or are you just a smart ass tongue.gif

i think you were right. i decided to put the drive into my pc and write all "0"s to it and start over. i remembered i could do this about 4 messages into this topic. its about half done and then i will try again
