I'm having absolute hell with some of the missions.. I'm just wondering if its necessary to do all the little Zero missions, the ones with the little planes and helicoptors, etc.. Or is there a main story I can follow and just do those missions and still progress in the game? Any feedback is greatly appreciated as I'm about to go nuts and thinking about selling my game.
melongstrike
I was wondering the same actually, the controls are so impossible I don't want to even complete those missions. I do not think you can progress without doing them though... hopefully I am wrong!

If I find out anything useful I will let you know.. till then good luck with those missions.
yaazz
yeah I dont like the camera on the white/black buttons but its no big deal i still like it
THDVL
Well.. its not a like or dislike situation. Its that I cant do the missions. I do em over and over and just cant get it. Thats why I was asking if there's a way to still progress through the game without doing those missions. Like, is there a main storyline to follow.
themadman123
well why don't you just go see if there are any other missions to do, if you've done them all and all that remains is the zero missions, then you are stuck with the stupid planes.

I agree though, I HATE the zero missions, I got a little farther in the game when I had it for PS2 and I believe you can just not do those missions, because I got to Los Venturas and then stop becuase I waited for the xbox version so I'm right about to get back to Los Venturas.
notsodiseased
You cannot open up Las Venturas without completing Zero's missions. They arent hard. On the one where you fly the baron just get the two targets in the northeast side of San Feiro first as they are the hardest. Learn to bank properly and the red barons a cakewalk
THDVL
Thx for the replies and advise guys.. Guess I'll just crack some beers and make a night outta it lol. Hope I can get past these damn Zero missions. I'm stuck on the one where you have to fly that helicoptor and move the crap in the road for the little car. Those tanks keep blowing the car up. Also stuck on the Photo Opportunity mission. I was hoping for an IGK in the trainer for completing missions, like the one in the Forza trainer, but I hear it would be very difficult to do that. So I'll just keep trying or go insane.. which ever comes first lol.

??? I havnt even bought Zero's shop yet and I finished the last mission earlier this morning. blink.gif
THDVL
Ahhh thats great news.. I've only completed 3 of the zero missions. I'm having the most trouble with the Photo Opportunity mission. I take pictures of their faces just like I'm supposed to but it always gives me a mission failed for some reason. Maybe the trainer is causing a prob.
fahrenheit
There is a difference taking photos to save and photos in that mission. If you are getting a save dialogue for your photos, then you are pressing the wrong button.

Trainer? What a good way to spoil a brilliant (and not overly difficult) game. Noob. tongue.gif
THDVL
n00b?? Me? LMAO boy! I was born with a game controller in my hands! I use trainers because I like to.. not because I have to, and how does it spoil the game?? If anything it makes it more enjoyable. tongue.gif

Thx for the tip on that Photo Op mission btw.
iwannadie
trainers doing ruin a game. if you want the game just for the story and the fun of it then no big deal. i played pretty far into the ps2 version i didnt want to play the same game over again so im using the infinite health/ammo codes to just get back through the game and enjoy the story.

I agree I hate the mission were you fly that RC Helicopter and have to take out the courier workers. It took me 5 hours to beat that one mission.
THDVL
I recently found out the Zero missions are all optional.. lol I wasted soooo much time trying to beat em. I only got through 3 of the missions. I'm now stuck on the "learning to fly" mission, Its just as hard as the zero missions if not harder. I've been trying to beat this mission for 4 days now. I've given up. I came so close to headbutting my xbox to death, I then decided that I wont let Rockstar get the best of me, so thats it. Maybe some kind person will submit a save right after that mission to codejunkies or gamefaqs.. Until then no more gta for me. I was having so much fun too. Damn Rockstar for ruining a cool game with such a bitch of a mission.

I am at the same part were you are " Learning To Fly". I also cant seem to beat it so I quit playing.
Infamous_One
Heh , is a piece of crap , dont know whats all the crap PS2 Fanboys are screaming that this is a good game when is the same shit all over again. same GTA just prettier , just now you control a black dude instead of an italian bitch.

Is it just me or everything i look is becoming boring on all Systems? the only things that have kept me happy is my DS cause of the Touching thing.
THDVL
Yeah.. I dont know if I'm just super jaded or what, but I feel the same way. I'm totally bored with all games right now and it doesnt look like there's any good games on the horizon. Maybe there will be something that will blow me away when the xbox360 comes out. I'm more of a RPG guy, but seems most of those are a let down aswell. The next installment of the elder schrolls looks promising though. I was actually having fun with gta, but after getting so frustrated that I take it out on my girl and friends its just not worth it. This is my 2nd gtaless day and I'm alot more chilled. I talked to JayFNG earlier and he's going to upload a save to codejunkies and gamefaqs on monday for everyone who is stuck on that damn learning to fly mission.. So guess I'll start playing that again...
Master X
Xbox does get boring sometimes, the only way to not make it boring is to get new games. The only reason why I started playing GTA San Andreas is because I heard alot of rumors that it was better then Halo 2 and one of the best games out there, well thats bullshit. I agree with you on San Andreas Infamous One, the only difference from Vice City is that now you controll a black guy. However for some reason, I enjoyed Vice City more then San Andreas. The missions in San Andreas seem to get boring to me but the missions in Vice City were fun.

Heh, I was so pissed off at that RC Plane mission where you work with Zero that I broke my Xbox controller.
melongstrike
Hey don't put the controller down just yet...

In the flying mission remember to put the landing gear up and you should beat it no prob. (click the right thumbstick in)

I feel lik an idiot.... put that was the reason I could never reach the 1st corona. And replayed the othe flying test and remembered I had to put up my landing gear.

Hopefully, this helps all those who were stuck... and this point.... Play on, I hear the rest of the game after this point is the best. ( haven't beaten it yet either but had to drop this message for everyone ... wish me luck!)

the mission where you rob the stuff from the army and then it says get back to the hide out but I can't find out where the place is. Is it over around where you can pimp your ride out?

You mean in near the beginning of the game where you use the forklift to load crates? The destination is marked on the map (and radar) as a blip.

I don’t recall exactly, but wasn’t it in La Playa Seville (kinda near the racing stadium)?
DjO
is it the same place that you return the stuff you rob from people's house's? Cause there isn't a blip on my radar screen.
Xombe
I think I recall I had a blip, at least on the map if not the radar...

But at any rate, you've got to head back to the area where you met Emmet (the old guy who first gave you the pistol). There's a red "finish area" there.

You should be able to do it without having to tell Ryder to chuck any of the crates if you hussle.
DjO
do you get more points for the more crates you have?
Xombe
Don't think so. All you get is Respect (no cash).
youngdosha31
Yea learning to fly is a bitch. I gave up a few times too but i always came back. I'm a little bit farther into that level and am stuck in a mission where I have to save this mob guy from an ambulence but when i get to the end of the mission and park the ambulence in the red circle the game zooms in and freezes. Done it twice and ended the same way. Frustrateing. Owe with the last zero mission, the trick is when he stops and asks you to get em a bridge take that time to pick up a barrel and drop it on the tanks a couple times. they'll blow up after two drops each and with the other chopper drop the bomb on em.
ahoatam
Learning to fly is easy. Switch to the view where you are looking out the front of the plane. (Like first-person, but it's not a person, it's a vehicle.) It will make a world of difference.

As for the Zero RC plane mission, don't hold down the left trigger the whole time. It uses too much fuel. Go after the motorbike with two people on it first (to the north/left) Once you nail it, the rest are easy. Make sure you line up your shots before you fire, because when you start shooting, they start running and shooting back, which makes it much tougher.

Seriously, this game rocks, and is probably overall the easiest GTA game yet. Letting a couple tough missions like this stop you is pretty bad.
THDVL
Ok guys, I've got some great news. The guys over at maxconsole constantly amaze me! RoBoZeO has just released 2.4 of his awesome GTA:SA trainer. There is now a schools option. This will give you 100% on all schools.. Yes it works on the extremly difficult, terrible, dreaded "learning to fly" mission biggrin.gif All you need to do is take off and fly that baby straight into the ground and you will pass. He's also added an option for unsensored girlfriends. Icing on the cake! Anyone having trouble with any of the school missions should go grab this gem of a trainer and save yourselves alot of time and frustration. Maxconsole Forums
Oh yeah.. a little tip for those having hell with the Zero missions. Theyre all optional. I've only done 3 of em and I've unlocked all of the cities. Have fun!
Xombe
Okay, I don't want to flame anyone, but you all got me worried about Learning to Fly...

And now what? One retry on Circle and Land and two retrys on the Loop the Loop (needed 1st person view). Golds on four tests first time out and done in about ten minutes flat...

So, what was all the hubbub about? huh.gif
THDVL
I found it very hard to control the plane. I know I'm not the only one.. I read somewhere some guy tried 100+ times and still didnt get it, I tried for 3 days and never got it. Maybe you're just a champ at flying. Only reason I'm past it now is because of the new trainer. That mission was the hardest thing I've ever come accross in a video game, and I hope I never have to see it again. I didnt try the first person view, didnt even think of it. Maybe that would've helped, who knows.
ahoatam
It took about three hours, but I've got gold in all of my schools, with the exception of a couple of tests in driving school. Granted, gold isn't necessary to pass, but it gets cool vehicles spawning outside of the school.

Apparently there's a decent controller being sold out there that has the white/black buttons moved to shoulder buttons. Or you can do what I did, and pop open your controller, buy a couple buttons from radio shack, and add new white/black buttons near the triggers. I am doing drive-bys with insane kills now.

You should turn off the trainer and go back to the flight school. Just give it a shot in first person and see how it works. It will probably make you less bitter about the experience.

Also, look up San Andreas at gamefaqs. There's an excellent school faq (for PS2, but ti's all the same info) which explains what you're going for in the missions to get golds since the game only tells you what you need to qualify, but not what you need to achieve 100%.
DjO
I've got all gold in the flying school except on the one with the helicopter where you have to destroy the 3 trucks then the 2 moving cars then land within the time limit.

It seemed all the other missions at the flying school are easy except that one sad.gif

DjO
ok I changed the view to first person and I got that mission first time in about alittle over a minute
sirliam345
u can just change the view in the view on the plan by pressing back until u cant see the plane anymore and its so easy muhaha.gif pop.gif laugh.gif
