it started fraggin like a year ago, but it worked every once in like 40 times. now it doesn't even work no more. we never saw no error codes either. we can hear the samsung drive spin 3 times, but it doesn't show anything.you have to push it 3 times to get it to eject. and we got a little frustrated so we dropped it a couple times bout 1/4 inch off the table. we opened it up but we don't kno what to do. i already bought a 160gb hdd for moddin. i'm thinkin that it is either the dvd drive or the motherboard or somethin overheated. ANY ADVICE WOULD HELP!!!!

my suggestion slowly back away from the xbox and never touch it. Why in the fucking world would u assume dropping the xbox would fix anything....
Does it have a mod chip?
who did the soldering if it does?
provide more details about the history of the box
If your still unable to fix it feel free to PM me i do xbox repairs..
but for the love of god dont drop the thing again

Sounds like a corrupt tsop...a chip could be a simple way to bypass this.

only way u'll get it to work is a modchip cause if it wont start you cant get a exploit installed, or run any kinda of software on it. U'll need a modchip. My advice is send it out to someone to have it fixed or have a modchip installed..

Drop it from 20 feet and ring the insurance company

Oh and if your wondering, 1-800-4MY-XBOX is not the insurance company's number.

yeah...
their answer to everything is to send them $100 and theyll fix it.
Its funny to call them, make up some problem that can be fixed by installing a modchip, then when they tell you the price, you say "Ive dome some research online, and I can fix this for $15 by installing a modchip. Bye!" (hang up).
Its also funny to call them and say thet your xbox makes popping and sizzling noises, and smoke comes out of the power plug. They ask of you have the replacement cord, and you say yes.
Or just call them, say any problem, then tell them to shove it and that youre going to fix it yourself.
Anyways, about the only way to fix this box is to install a modchip. (dropping it only works with HDD problems, but often makes them worse.)
