When you used the installer, did you choose use nkpatcher.67 option?.. it seems like you are using NKpatcher .67 and thats why its showing 28Gb free..

Testing now, doesnt ndure have ingame reset like ude+pbl does?
Edit: Disabling the 67 option fixed it

when i coldboot with a burned disc inside i dont seem to have IGR is this normal?

Aug 17 2005, 08:13 PM
IGR is a nkpatcher feauture. It has nothing to do with ndure but I'm sure it's in the package
tetsuo55
Aug 17 2005, 08:18 PM
It all works now
the IGR is even better than with ude+pbl because it resets from disc to dash which i prefer

thansk for this great exploit+installer guys!!

In case anyone's interested, the virtual C is a great way to try the "Uber Double Dash" and subsequently its easter-egg and audio exploits (UDDEE & UDDAE) initially...

krayzie
Aug 19 2005, 03:58 PM
My guess is the normal audio exploit (although be it the stable version).
I wonder though....If the exploit is switched off and the dash gets updated (or at least an attmept to update it) wouldn't it error on the next boot and wouldn't it be hard to recover if the user doesn't have the exploited game.

just a little question
I have a 200 MB C... can I still use the retail setup? (the shadowc img is too big...)
thanks
Cio
Aug 21 2005, 10:09 AM
Your C should be 500 MB, disable your virtual C drive (run a gamesave exploit or a bios loader).
Also this installer creates ALL files needed for the exploit so you can clear out C (ofcourse only if you're gonna place the exploit straight away!)
kingroach
Aug 21 2005, 02:46 PM
your C drive should be around 145Mb.. see if there is any extra files.

Aug 21 2005, 03:49 PM
ok, thanks, I was working with the shadowc C...
I've installed a new C, generated with Ndure 2.1, but now that I've done that, the new shadowc is empty... I have an empty C when I boot my xbox...
How is the shadowc.img is generated with Ndure setup??? Can I choose the files I want to put in?
thanks
kingroach
Aug 21 2005, 04:15 PM
The shadowc is empty, you can put C drive files there.. Normal C drive is like this:
Audio
fonts
xodash
xboxdashdata.185ead00
xboxdash.xbe
or you can out whatever file you want to put in shadowc.

Regarding my above "offer" (to begin with*):
Some may recall that kernel versions up to 5530 can run a font exploit that uses /C/bert.xtf and /C/ernie.xtf (it resulted from rmenhal's original double dash exploit).
Well, with Ndure it can be used as a "double dash easter egg" (DDEE) exploit, to get back from the live console enabled 185ead00 dash (except for K:5713/5838).
This DDEE requires 21 MB on my 3944's real C, which is one of the reasons for 2.1's filler of that size...
(*I will start a new topic ASAP to provide details about various Ndure 2.1 opportunities, including this.)

That's great to hear kingroach; at your convenience ... there's no hurry here, the dust's still settling on krayzie's release.
Regarding which, it seems there's an improvement opportunity for users with non-'retail' installs, as per:
http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?act...dpost&p=2858749The Ndure 'fonts' setup is superior for those that just coldboot, because dashupdate.xbe's fail almost immediately (without significantly changing the real-C) plus it's unlikely to hang thereafter, even with the generic font.
If you're interested, a "Fonts" 'type of install' could be implemented by your installer as follows:
CODE
a. install the "Retail" type
b. rename the xboxdashdata.185ead00 directory (suitably)
c. rename the bios directory
d. install the "Basic" type's bios folder
e. add a couple of new menu entries to toggle between "Fonts" and "Retail" setups (by renaming the directories).
Similarly, the "Retail" type could install the renamed "Basic" type's folder, so users can also toggle to/from the "Fonts" setup if they want to...

I always like seeing progress, because as usual I don't know whats going on

.
Keep up the good work kingroach, because by poking around with your installer I can turn Ndure protagonist's "Regarding which, it seems there's an improvement opportunity for users with non-'retail' installs" into "Put the files 'n shit here and Live works!".
Good work aswell Ndure protagonist.

Hi
I need help with Ndure Package for XboxHDM.
I did it, but I dont know if it the correct way.
1. I downloaded the Ndure 2.1 and XboxHDM 1.9
2. Then, I Extracted each one of them in a separate folder.
3. Then, I did the Ndure's Setup (custom).
4. Then, I took the C and E folder from the Ndure installation and placed inside the linux folder of XboxHDM folder, and overwrited them.
5. Then, I made a linux.iso by clicking in make-iso-win.bat.
6. Then, I burned the linux.iso
Is that all ???
Thanks

First of all.. there´s been a long time since a last modded a xbox (soldering and tsop flash). Today a bought a xbox for my littlesister and I thought to mod it with Ndure installer for Pc. I havent got the ndure files yet so I havent read the nfo, but I read the nfo for ndure 1.0 and there it said you need a actionreplay, but I wonder if you need a actionreplay to do this (Ndure Installer for Pc?
I was thinking of using my mechassult and memcard to acces the C: via ftp and then transfer the files via FTP. Is this possible?

The action replay is needed if you dont have any other way of getting an exploit savegame on the xbox (another modded box and memory unit for example).

Aloha,
I tried this mod this weekend and it workel like a charm ... almost.
I've got the mod to work when I bot with the power button but when I try to boot with the eject button I got a error 21. I tried to repair c: with the ndure toolset but I get an error when trying to repair.
Did I do something wrong beacuse I deleted C: and E: and transfered the C: and E: the Ndure installation program made.
Now to my question: in the folder shadowC I only have 2 files is this correct?

Read the readme.. you should apply the installer to a folder containing your stock C drive files (or the M$dash function wont work).

Sep 19 2005, 02:06 PM
you need MS dashboard files in C:\, the files are :
Audio
fonts
xboxdashdata.185ead00
xodash ( other files in there)
you can get the files from slayers disk..and yes, there is only two files in shadowc folder.

After completing the setup, I got error 21. I think this was because I used the wrong fonts. I tried to "get clever" and use kernel-specific fonts, but I'm not entirely sure now whether I should have trusted XBMC to tell me what kernel I have.
No matter, sez I. After all, I have my EEPROM and a XBoxHDM disk to hand, so I'll just re-install my trusty UXE-Complete v2.2 - no joy. I still get error 21. Oops.
The only thing I can think of to blame is that I left the E drive intact both times. I'm just going to back that up and then re-install again. What are the chances that I have screwed it up beyond all repair this time? If so, what exactly did I get wrong?
EDIT: I just realised, I have no idea how to back up files from the X-Box drive other than by using FTP. >_<
Suggestions welcome?

Heh. Yeah, the last install I did was UXE complete 2.1 which has the dash on C, I seem to recall. This was 2.2, and the dash has moved to E. Thanks for the help, that seems to have fixed my UXE install. I'm going to sleep on it before I do the NDURE install again.
Thanks very much for your reply. I can't believe I made such a n00bish mistake. I've done loads of softmods in which the C drive was the only one that counted, so I guess I just... didn't read the README. Sorry.

These are not the only method to get files on your xbox right?
I remembered long time ago, I connected my HDD to my computer, that way is more complicated for beginners though. I scerwed up my HDD LOCK KEY and broke a wasted a Harddrive.
Am I correct? there are only these methods to get stuff on your unmodded xbox.
1) connect through computer's harddrive ATA Cables
2) xbox remote controller memory card
3) Action replay, which i don't know what it is lol
4) another modded xbox

um 2,3,4 is actually the same thing
3 is a program to xfer files from pc to xbox
and 4 would require a mem card to move files

basically there is two

1) PC to XBOX (IDE)
2) PC to XBOX , XBOX TO XBOX, AR TO XBOX, (memcard)

I've had another try at installing NDURE. Honestly, I don't think it likes me. This time, I got error 13. I'm guessing this is because I used generic fonts when I should have used kernel-specific.
Not to sound like the world's worst n00b, but how exacltly do I know which kernel I have?
DaBiscuit
Sep 24 2005, 01:42 PM
Sorry for the double post, but I figured it out. XBMC can tell me what kernel I have, and for the record it is 5530. I used the specific fonts, and I also finally realised that I should be using nkpatcher.6 rather than .67 - I guess I got there in the end. NDURE is now running on my box just fine.
