alright this may sound like a noob question, but i was wondering if a portable usb hardrive would work if connected to the xbox through the controller port.

From everything I have heard, no...but I could be mistaken...I know that it wouldn't allow for games since it is a USB 1.1

i wouldnt want it for games, i mean xbox games, i just copy those (for backups that i own of course, but i mean just for music, and apps, and such

also how would i make it work as far as drivers go, i tried just plugging it in, it didnt work, im using evox/avalaunch/xbmc

some work, others don't.
It will look like one big memory card.
I don't know the max size, and you have to format it. The M$ dash will do this for you if it is compatible.

What about using a linux disc to boot up and see if it reads it?
