what makes you guys think this isnt real time?? look at the fans in the background do you think the audience would look like that crap if it was rendered?? and i think the most impressive thing is that this is from EA the crapola of companies, so what the other companies will pull off will be a treat indeed. my verdict is that its real time and hot damn it looks nice

Well EA does always have the biggest display at the E3. This year was sweet, that 360 degree screen

So either they have the money to put into a great looking game, or they use up all their money for their displays at the E3 lol

I'm willing to bet it's ingame, I mean the character models will be able to look that good on this hardware and the audience is all blury so if they put all the processing power into the players and court and such it is most deffinetly possible that, that is ingame.

yes its very possibly thats just texture work and shaders, nothing really amzing about it, the poly count even looks a little low to me...

we have seen the original EA renders and they looked much better than this...

NBA 2k6 is made by sega and is called ESPN 2k6, and NBA Live 2006 is made by ea.

its NBA 2K6 now. EA bought the rights to espn for like 10 years or something like that. i want to see NBA 2K6 shots. i think its a lot better then anything EA has to offer. if you cant compete try and take everything away from the other company. espn nfl

thats just plain stupid how can they buy the rights to espn. ESPN is a companay not a sports league, and what they bought was the rights to the NFL so that way sega cant make nfl 2k6, and now their can only be madden football and not other football game. Unless they make 1 with teams that have differnt names.

Umm, EA DID buy the rights to use ESPN in their games... for 15 years.

It doesn't begin till 2006, though Visual Concepts (now owned by Take Two and not Sega) have opted not to use the ESPN license in their final year of the contract.

More less those are cut scene visuals. Well I hope the game turns out amazing. Those have to be some of the sickest CG's I have seen in any sports game. I hope it plays as good as it looks

I'm thinking those screenshots are realtime because you can see the polygons in the basketball. If these were promo renders, they would have put ALOT more time, effort and polygons into the main object in focus. At the very least these are captures from the introduction movie that will more than likely use the ingame engine.

And while Basketball is the #2 sport in my book, Soccer will always be #1... by a long shot.

Haters? I saw the commercial. Firstly, I think it's an artists impression of what EA hopes to achieve, but secondly, it wasn't that great anyway. Terrible, terrible animation. Freaky human forms on the players and some crappy basketball physics and ideas, with the flat, bullet jumpshot and Ray Allen tip-jamming on Big Ben.

We all know the difference (like 3 years difference) visually between current gen Visual Concepts/Take Two NBA 2K games and EA's Live games, so you can imagine the deal with next-gen. EA are in trouble if that's all they can come up with and are very lucky they have the NFL license, because Madden may have been put to shame also.

NBA2k6 looks like crap IMO. Animations are what makes sports games a lot better and NB2k6 just doesn't have good enough animations. Now I've compared the high def 2k6 video off M$ site to the EA compilation which has NBA Live 2006 and Ea's game looks way more fluid and real and the characters look a lot nicer.

NBA 2k6 looks more amazing than NBA live 2006. IMO anyway.
