Hey guys! New here

I just got my MadCatz Microcon Xbox controller, with an Xbox to USB converter cable and it's all working fantastic. But, I can't for the life of me remember what the controls were on the Xbox version of VC, but I just remember it was cool.

So I'm after the same thing on SA. Would anyone be able to just quickly post the button mappings, like

On foot:

A=
B=
X=
Y=

etc. etc.

Or if that's a hassle, know where I can get such information?

I've got a semi working control setup at the moment but it still doesn't feel right. Stuff like gang control, Yes or No responses, stuff like that...I can't think how they work on an Xbox pad.

They don't allow direct linking to guides without permission, but R Carr's guide has the most robust control listing there (taken right from the manual, with all the walking/driving/bicycle specific info).

Hey man! Thanks for the link. R-Carrs guide is...extensive to say the least but it seems to only be for PS2. I mean I could try porting the controls over to an X-Box configuration. It's just when I have to substitute the L/R 2 buttons for something else that I run into trouble, although I guess I could use the white/black buttons. Waddaya think??

Yeah, White and Black are Look/Strafe Left and Right respectively, and both are held to look back (re: L1 and L2).

The also function as the rudders on planes and "rotation" in helis.

I presume you know the triggers are accel and brake. Negative replys are Left on the D-Pad, Postive replys are Right on the D-pad.

Up and Down on the D-Pad are Make Gang Follow and Make Gang Hang Back respectively.

Left Stick click is crouch when on foot, Horn when driving. Right Stick click is change camera view (98% sure ATM).

Cool that's quite a help so far. At the moment I'm using SAAC (neat little utility that lets me set controls using a gamepad, cos SA PC doesn't let you do that, OR use analog triggers!).

But it gets confusing knowing which buttons are already used and stuff, so what I'll do is write down a column of buttons...and a column of actions, then assign them in text form then post it here and maybe you guys can point out any daft errors on my part

Sorry to double post, but just to say been playing it and it's sooo much better than mouse and keyboard! Especially the targeting system which I could never actually get to work using the qwerty. Great stuff.

The only thing that is a little awkward is driving my low rider! Cos the right stick controls hydraulics, I can't keep the camera fixed behind my car all the time, and it's a little slow to catch up with the direction my car is facing. So I'm more likely to yam it into a lamp-post lol oh well. Fair trade off I guess!
