OK... I got bored today and im in the mood of sharing of how I make my removable cleenroom in my shed\garage when I paint xboxes.

1. get a big tarp (I used a HUGE 16X16 tarp)
2. Make a frame to make yourself a small enclosure.
3. Get a shopvac or a vacume)
4. put the shopvac out of the cleanroom only the nozel on the side.
5. Make sure it's nice and airtight almost... you dont want dust in there.
6. bring shit in to paint.
7. turn on vacume.
8. Paint.

I know this is a horible tutorial... but it gives the noob painters out there an Idea of how to paint without having dust land on the xbox and ruin it. tho unless you use a plastic and make it alot better and more suction.. I dont recommend opening a hard drive ( I TAKE NO RESPONSIBILITY!)

Enjoy! beerchug.gif

It's more to reduce the chances of having dust particles land on your xbox. I was doing my friends and I had to redo the 3 tone paint job cause of dust... I'm just trying to help reduce pains.. and If you make a frame you can do it outside also... it also have many other uses of course... but I legally I cant tell you to block off the holes and hotbox tongue.gif ... anyways... just trying to help since im bored and edbound for the next 2-3 days...

Wouldnt you need some kind of painting mask thing? If you are closed in there and painting without one then you are pretty much just huffing paint right?

PS. thanks for pointing that out

something else to think about to reduce dust is... spray the floor down with water (not soaking it but enough to wet it) this way dust will stick to it before you paint... I knew a guy that used to paint cars on the side... he did this in a garage one time and I couldn't find any flaws in the paint when he was done...

Where do you people live? I paint in my garage with no dust, at least visible. I don't know maybe I'm lucky.

hehe, clean room

A bathroom's good enough for a hdd window tongue.gif

lol

my painting room, its a massive concrete room at the back of my garage, before i paint, i get a bucket of water, and use a mop and soak the whole entire floor so while im walking nothing can come up, i hang my items i paint, i have a heater in there 1 hour before hand and it stays on up to 2/3 days depending on what paint, & what paintjob... room stays at a constant 20/25 celcius, perfect painting temperature smile.gif

Regards
HoZy

P.S- Jeb nice lil tut for a cleanroom
