hey hows it goin X-S im an experienced modder and this is the first time this has happened to me and its Canada Day! Iv'e been stressin about it alll day :S

OK I flashed the TSOP using the spliner cell evo-x exploit and it worked flawless i had it in evo-x after using the slayers disc and flashing the TSOP with the latest X2 BIOS and it worked fine for about 20 minutes so I decided to boot up my modded box with a solderless spiderchip and my xbox didnt boot up so I switched back to the TSOP flashed xbox and it FRAG'ged so I was like wtf I tried everything and nothing worked, I checked the mobo for solder splash, there was nothing, I dont know what happened, it just suddenly stopped working on me and now im screwed for a box. I either have to order another chip or buy a new box (which would be quicker) to play my sweet games again..... if anyone can enlighten me a bit I would greatly appreicate it.... if my post doesn't make sense I'm sorry but I drank alot tonite haha I will try to be more clear tommorow with more details! thanks in advance!

more than likly you have a soilder splash on the board , for tyhe xbox with the chip doble check all connections on the lpc. soilderless are a pain and frag really easy had one for a while.

one other senerio after you done the install you didn't happen to reload the game for flashing and shut it off prematurly did you?

nooo trust me I did not shut it down prematurely and I'm not 100% sure about the solder splash but it did boot up after I bridged the two points and it worked up untill I used the slayers disc to install the apps and latest evo-x. I did not re-flash the TSOP after I flashed it with the latest evo-x so it is not a BIOS problem... like I said it is a new problem to me as it was working after everything was done and then it started to FRAG after it was fine, the other box with the spider chip is working like a charm no worries there its just the TSOP flashed box that is giving me grief. If anyone has ever had this problem can they please help me out because I had to give MY xbox to the dude in replacement for his and now I can't play I either have to order a new chip which takes too much time IMO or just go and buy a used box and softmod it to ease the cravings haha thanks for the input and happy Canada day peace

what version xbox , sounds like the tsop is corrup , this can even happen on a never modded box with a one meg flash you could do the trick on the bottom of the board to boot from one section of the tsop (or 256) to see if thats what the prob is

Why put a spiderchip back in if you've flashed the TSOP?

When you fitted the spiderchip, did you have to do anything to the d0? I would check for continuity between the top point and the bottom point.

haha sorry about not being clear enough I do have two boxes and they were both working, one with chip and one with TSOP flash, they both were working and I was happy, I was going to transfer over some apps and music from my xbox(with spiderchip) to the TSOP flashed xbox, I had them both hooked up and when I tried booting the TSOP flashed xbox with the newly installed HDD it wouldnt boot up, It kept giving me a FRAG, It was working after I installed the HDD because I just finished using the slayers disc to install the dashboard to the C drive, It worked after rebooting and taking the disc out. When I tried booting it after that it didnt work and thats why It is strange to me because I tested it everytime I did something new to it and it always worked. It just suddenly stopped working.... when Im off work tommorow I'm going to try a few things and hopefully get some more help from you guys thanks, goodnight

By FRAG, do you mean rebooting 3x times and then flashing red and green?

yes FRAG = Flashing Red And Green

I only asked as there can be confusion over the term "FRAG".

So you're saying when the Xbox was FRAGging here, it was rebooting 3 times with nothing on screen? How did using Slayers fix it?

Gonna ask a few silly questions or guess.......

is it a 1.4/5 Focus mobo you tsop'd ?

does config magic boot up ok - if so then ya eeprom is fine

does it work if you put the old h/d back in as it was ?

if you slayer'd the old h/d I'm wondering would it frag - maybe don't try that bit yet

tried formatting the moody drive in another xbox ?

could be a bad format/install of the msdash files - maybe moody dvd or ide problem

you are talking about frag and maybe dashboard error 13/16 or you are you saying 3 resets on/off

just that I had some very strange problems with a mobo that kinda works but doesn't with different h/d's installed
(all h/d's work in other xbox but this qwirky xbox mobo - it runs backups from discs but not all stuff on some h/d's)

No it is a 1.0 with a hynix TSOP

The old HD was exploited to boot into Evo-X to reflash the TSOP and it worked after I did for a good while and then it decided to give up...

No I have not tried to format the drive in another box

I doubt it is the ms dash files because the main dashboard was evo-x and I don't think the msdash files should cause any problems with it

and yes i get 2 resets and then it frags....

Well 3 x reboot is not good. I'm sure you don't need me to tell you that. With the spiderchip, you'll need to check your LPC points for connectivity. The TSOP'd box - not sure about this. If it was working before, then either something's changed or come loose.

thanks for the help everyone i got it working and im very happy again I guess it's just a weird xbox lol I hooked everything up and it decided to boot up, maybe it needed time?? haha i dont know and dont really care anymore you guys are awesome for taking the time to help me out peace! happy Independance day US

anyway.. if you havent broken a trace on the mobo, then you need to think about a core component going bad.. its not that unlikely that the mcpx has burned out.. you need to check for broken traces first..
