I read a post here on this forum that someone was thinking about putting their failed attempt forsale on ebay. I did a search on ebay for broken xboxes and found a few forsale. What I found amusing is the fact that pretty much all the sellers said "I don't know whats wrong with it?".

i noticed this exact same thing last night, tons of xbox's that don't work for sale on ebay 2 by the same guy, this was his quote "don't know what's wrong, just flash orange and green"

I picked up one for $65 and used parts to fix mine. Now I've got another complete XBox with only a bad DVDRom. One more $65 box and I'll have two more XBoxes! :)

I was thinking of buying one... after all, isn't there a guy on these forums that fixes XBoxes, even if traces and points have been ripped off by some impatient, would-be modder? For only $20, to boot. Even if you sold 'em afterwards, you'd still get about $40-$60 dollar profit. Personally, I'd keep 'em so I me and my wife can kick the shit out of each other legally through Halo or Cell Damage. =-)

At least you can rest assured if you fuck your box up, you can sell it on ebay for $100 and have half the money for a new one already ( or 2/3 the money come Sept. 23rd).

I bought a broke Xbox off ebay a couple months ago.

Was the whole system in a box, with all the paper work, cords and controller. Paid $45 bucks. Didnt work...

I opened it up and u could see where he soldered in the mod and melted it.

I took out the Harddrive and CPU then boxed it all back up and went to Wal-Mart at like 3am. I was like Hi I bought this a couple weeks ago and it's never worked. I lost the sale slip though. Can I just exchange it for another one?

The lady behind the desk said sure I dont see why not. So she looked threw the box to make sure it was all there.

She didnt even notice the stickers on the bottem of the system were missing. Well anyway she calls back to the Electronics department which brings one up. The guy is like all we have left in stock is this one unit. It was the Sega GT 2002 bundle pack with the MS S-Type controller.

They lady exchanged it for me She didnt even notice it was diffrent.

I got a new xbox for $45 dollars with Sega GT 2002 and a S-Type controller

Then I sold the HD to my friend for $50 bucks so basicly I got an xbox and made $5 profit

Anyway, go buy other peoples fuckups. They can be worth it.

On a side note, Wal-Mart didnt make me sign anything or fill out any return papers so they dont have my name or anything incase anyone does notice the xbox is missing the CPU and HD. Altho if they did what the hell would they say, my reply would be well thats why I returned the fucker it didnt work. I guess it was cuz someone else bought it and jacked the shit out of it and returned it and u dumb fucks put it back on the shelf without checking it.

I had a PS2 for a while too but I sold it. Starting to wish I hadn't. I still have the origanal box, extra controller, and I have a few spare PSX A/V Cords and all the paper works in the box.

I think its time to start looking around Ebay for another broken PS2. My friends bought like 4 broke PS2's off Ebay and swapped them. Guess its time to do that now too

And the worst part about it is you somehow seem proud of commiting fraud. So proud that you must come to a public forum to announce it. To each their own. I am hypocritical, I admit it, but I just can't stand seeing people steal hardware out of XBoxes, then return them for a full refund or another Xbox. Making a copy of software, while it is bad, is NOT stealing something physical from someone. It is copywrite infringment, NOT theft. What you have done, is theft and fraud. I have 700Gigs of storage in my PCs, 10Ghz combined power, WTF would I be jealous of someone stealing a 10Gig hard drive? I just think its pointless to risk it for something so trivial. I am more pissed that someone is dumb enough to do it, and even more pissed that they come here and brag about it. You like your Xbox right? Then you can't hate MS that much can you? But you then go out and screw them over anyway you know how. Don't come bitchin to me when Xbox turns out to be a Dreamcast and goes the way of the dodo. You can NOT tell me that X company is losing $ because I made a copy of a game that sucks and I will never play. They were not going to get my $ anyway, and I wasted my $ making a copy. I do buy all the games I enjoy, and will continue to do so to support the people I want to make more games I like.

I think the xbox is UL listed, and they test everything. the wouldnt have endorsed it if you couldn't put it in a "warm room"
