Hi to all, if you are one of the lucky person that well tweak your philips drive please post the correct ohms value of the TWO pot. It can be a great help for people that try the upgrade!
In my experience... a good value of the left pot is: 753 ohms with this value the drive reads CD-RW and CD-R
i'm waiting for the value of the right pot
Thanks for your help,

as far as the right pot is concerned I have read a couple posts that said that if you turn it at all it will fuck your drive so why do you need ohm values? just leave it alone.
just my two cents,

Yes there's the possibility to "burn" the drive..
but sharing good tweaking values can help a lot of people! So...

i turned the left pot a tiny bit (never measured it, i marked the orig value and kinda knew what i was doing). my drive read light coloured cdr and any cdrw fine. never needed to touch the right pot, and id suggest agasint it.
if you dont like it once tweaked, do what i did - and get urself a samsung

There are better ways to get every fucking media readed.. just buy PC DVD-drive samsung 616T and xboxsammy firmware frm usual places and some soldering.. there ya go..

i've read many topics, and many users tell many things, this is what i'v had when pot tweaked my philips drive..
Watching from the back of the dvd drive,i measured the left pot, turn in clockwise and put it at 940 ohms, with this i can read all the originals games and movies,DVDR,CDRW, CDR only the brand VIVASTAR,the others that i have i can't read.
Then i read your topic that put the pot at 753ohms,and reads all CDR and CDRW,i tried that, and i had more CDR to work, but then the DVDR's start to fail and take long period do load a game.. Then i turned again to mine 940 and reads all dvdr and cdrw. cdr only vivastar.. does yours read DVDR well with the 753 ohms??

why pot tweak it?? are you not getting sufficient readings of your burned software?? I have the worst drive of the bunch (thompson), but my burning methods allow me to read all the cds with no problem. Pot tweaking will eventually shorten the life span of your drive. I had first hand experience with my dreamcast gdrom.
