i want to reinforce the ribbon on the hip pad so that it doesn't break but I'm not sure what to use. I would use hot glue but I am afraid it will melt the ribbon and then the screen is toast. Will caulking work for this or will it make is more fragile and brittle over time. I was thinking about just completely covering the ribbon after I have the thing installed. Thanks for the help

I've only covered that ribbon cable in one of my hip pad installs, and I used hot glue. It worked like a charm! Most of the time my methods of mounting the screen and pcb are suffucient, but in that particular install I wanted the extra security, ya know. The hot glue should work good for ya, just make sure you have the ribbon cable in the proper position before adding the hotglue, cuz it dosent bend well after its cool, nor will it release its kung-fu death grip off that ribbon cable w/o ripping it, good luck on ya mod.

Thanks. I ended up using some caulk because I didn't want to melt the ribbon be then I will secure it even more with hot glue. All should go well though it still works so thats all that matters. i will post some pics when I am done. It'll be one of a kind out there. Haven't seen anything like it before. It has just about everything you can do to it out there.
Controller port move
hip pad
xenium ice
250 maxtor plus
aerogate 2
hardwired dvd dongle
50-60 leds
xerc cme p12
flush dvd window
hip pad controls molded into the top of the case
hip pad speakers molded into top of case
headphone jack
Upgraded thermal compound arctic silver
blue led fan
There's more but I'm tired and don't want to list it all.
I have all this hooked up now I just have to put it all back together which could take me about a week or so. There are so many freakin wired everywhere, it sucks.

That all sounds good,
one thing I will suggest is that you look around for a little bit of a better speaker then the ones supplied w/ the hip pads, they sound like sheeeet.
LMK how everything turns out, good luck!

I have it painted and everything molded in and the leds wired up and the screen and the buttons in there. It's all up and running how it should be. I just have to be able to fit all of the stuff back into the xbox. If you have seen the wire mess that the bluelagoon has it is no comparison to what I have in mine. If you would like to see some pics let me know and i will post them of the innards of the top. I can't post pics of the lights. I have to place the xerc chip in the xbox first. I just temporarily hooked up the lights last night to test and I have already unhooked them so the next time they are up and running is when it's almost all together.

Here are some pics of the wiring mess I have inside of my xbox and then some wires and and such I still have to fit inside of it. Let me know if you think that's a birds nest. LOL It is rather organized though it has taken a lot of time to do all of the wiring and half the time is done trying to keep it all down flat on the top so it's not everywhere.
Here they are:
Top 1More wiresTop 2My pics were too big so I thought I would do this instead.

That good stuff right there!! Ya it has taken me a good couple of weeks on the wiring and placement and stuff. I will post pics when it is all done. A couple more weeks and it should be completely sealed up and never to be opened again. LOL That's what we all say!! Until I find something better to do to it.

Wow, wiring looks nice. Good job taking your time and organizing. Can't wait to see it done. What is the color scheme?

The color is black on black for the case. It is a textured black for the main color and actually it is a little grayish and the secondary is shiny black. You wouldn't think it looks very nice but it does in my opinion. The lights are blue and there are a few white ones in there that will shine down on the dvd as it spins.
