At work today, I was helping out a customer when I heard someone say "Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas"

I walked over to the TV, and it came out of the news reporters mouth. He was saying something about a porno built INTO the game. He also said something about how Hillary Clinton wants to "stop" the production of these kinds of games, OR have the government step in, and restrict certain age groups from buying violent video games.

She said she didn't like hearing about the so called "porno" was built into the game. Someone said, that this was just some little code that you could put in, and have virtual sex with one of the character's of the games.

The news reporter, hearing this, was like, "oh, so it's not like ACTUAL porn, it's just with the 3-D characters of the game"

Last time I checked, there were Ratings on games.

E = Everyone
T = Teen
MA = Mature (17 and over)

I honestly think that Hillary is going a little overboard with this whole issue. If she has the government step into this whole thing, there is no way she's receiving my vote in the 2008 elections.

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is one of the greatest free roaming, car video games ever!

I bet if she does something to restrict these games, she will loose a lot of followers, and will effect the results of the election.

Heres the thing that you have to remember: the whole Jackass incidents. Remember those? With the kid imitating the stunts (stupid fucks for doing it to) and then the parents tried suing the Jackass executives, and MTV for it. Keep this in mind, whose fault was it?

Was it the parents fault for not properly monitering what the kids watched? Yes

Was it the kids fault for being so stupid they light themselves on fire? Yes

Was it Jhonny Knoxvilles fault for giving the kids ideas but at the same time properly warning the viewers? No

Was it the Executives fault for making sure the TV show was properly rated according to the rating system of the time? No

Same thing with violent video games, parents are to quick to blame everyone else, but its their fault. Its their fault for not properly monitering what their kids do and are into. Blame someone? Blame parents. Dont like the video games? Dont buy them and dont let your kids buy them? Kids sneaking behind your back? Tough shit, its your fault for not smacking your kids around enough to know better.

She is protesting the game not because of the violence but because of the hot coffee mod. Which if it was indeed put into the game by rockstar they are fucked. They avoided an AO rating from the ESRB which would have surely killed the games sales since you will be hard pressed to find a store that sells AO rated games. I don't believe Rockstars bullshit about hackers decompiling their source code and completely re building and remodeling the game to include the Hot coffee mod. I think they are just trying to side step it but I don't think it should be pulled in australia or whever if it's found that the mod was included in the game. You will always find government officials bitching about violence and nudity because it makes them popular among the parents who agree, which vastly out number the parents who don't care. Most of them probably don't even understand and think it was some porno scene in the game not something you had to dl and patch the game with so they think "hey I don't want me kid seeing that Hillary is right" Anyways I think the whole thing is stupid.
thewickedjester
Oh, I see, well I had mis-interpreted what he was talking about, I didnt even know there was a 'hot coffee mod'. Sorry, although my point still stands.

Please tell me your not voting for her just because of this. You should not vote for her regardless. I live in this ***** town and it is horrible.

I think this is another attempt by hillary to get on the good side of the christian right. Nothing more, nothing less.

Hillary Clinton is just using this as an opportunity to get in the national spotlight to help get her set for a run at the whitehouse.
The unProfessional
God of War is also under fire for having a mini-game where you apparently try to pleasure two chicks at once.

If you want to know why hillary is being such a bitch (besides the fact that she always is), read Damam's post.

Also let me mention that publishers commonly hire third parties, other than the developer, who port the game to other platforms. It's always possible that another third-party did this, besides rockstar. But if they did it, yes, they're kinda fucked. Stupid move.

On the other hand, if they manage to dodge the legalities, their sales will SKYROCKET even more than they already have.

more bullshit to take your mind off other important things going on...

let's worry more about computer game porno than potential threats of nuclear devices going off in just one American city....

I cant help but see parallels between tipper gore and hillary clinton on this.

Somehow I really doubt their is someone who is perceived to be as pure and pristine as John Denver, to save the gaming industry from complete censorship.

Nothing changes the fact that you have to modify the game out of the box in order to get the stupid video. In my oppionion, the only way you could hold skyrocket accountable is if they put the video in with the intention of a mod somehow *magically* appearing later on in order to boost publicity.

I half-agree with this statement in some way. Anytime an opportunity like presents itself, any politician looking for some way to make their mark not only in Washington but in society as well will grab it.

But the other thing that you also have to remember is that these parties have a ton of so-called "advisors" who have little to no facts on certain things that these politicians are going by. She probably didn't know anything about the game and went on public based on the "advise" that was given to her. How funny would it be if she's actually playing the game right now, saw the scene that her "advisors" told her about and now she's hitting herself in the head saying "What the hell were F'ers talking about! This is some good $h*T!"

Hey, it could happen... tongue.gif

And Bill Gates has a modded xbox. I doubt it, wether for her own personnal reasons or because of political ones, she probably knows whats shes talking about. The issue with this whole thing is that unless it really was one of the first-party companies (either Rockstar or Skyrocket was it?) and ends up being some kid good with computers, can they really do anythign? I suppose so, considering it is illegal to decompile the game right?
RicoUzuki
um i was watching G4 and on Attack of the show they gave an Actionreplay code to enable the hot coffee mod in the PS2 version of the game. Correct me if im wrong but dosent Actionreplay just edit game data stored in RAM? Dosent this mean the code is just telling the game to load this hot coffee scene off the disc? This means that rockstar did put the scene in the game. And would the senator get off the comany's back if they just knew that the mod wasent accesible without "Hacking software" be it a crack or code? Im sure the majority of the game owners dont know about the cracks or have access to Actionreplay.

Just my two cents

This deffo smells like a publicity stunt by Rockstar and Hillary. If the game was marketed at a younger age group (below 18s) she might have a point.
Twasi
Yeah it's been confirmed to be in the original code. I bet Rockstar feels pretty silly blaming hackers for reverse engineering the source code and recompiling models and stuff just to put in some crappy sex scene, and after that bs the words gets out it's actually in the game. rolleyes.gif

this is funny. they bother going after "fake" porno in a game that you actually have to do a little bit of work for, but they dont go after the "real" porno that much. have you ever done a search for it? yeah sure you got those credit card sites, but there are sites full of free porn that you need no age verification or anything for. hell google even helps you there. search jenna jameson in google images, then take off thesearch filter and re-search it. look at all that porn. hmmm... and then if you click on one of the pics, chances are that you will get a whole gallery of it. besides... what person would get off to 3d animation... kind of sick... "check out that babe she is a hot one" id see this hot coffee mod only as a joke, and for those of you who take it seriously, you really need a life lol. and by the way, im not some porno king, i think many people have done a search for it once or twice.

I can attest to the fact that this is, in fact, true.

He has a point. So you can do work and get badly-pixilated nudity, where good resolution pictures are free of the internet. I doubt that someone is going to get gtasa for porn.

I think rockstar should get punished for trying to blame hackers. I added the Hot Coffee mod into a mod of mine and i can tell you it requires very little editing...

What you said is incoherent and inconsistent. First you side with hillary in punishing rockstar and then you resume with the opposition in wanting to assassinate hillary. Whatever. Its a messed up issue and im not goign to reiterate what i said in a previous post.
darkblizzard
ya cuz i dont like either of them. Rockstar tries to blame the hackers and Hiliary has stirred up a mess that will make it harder to mod GTA games in the future or even release them.
The unProfessional
I'm only pissed because it'll be alot harder for games to avoid M ratings from now on because the ESRB will undoubtedly be more strict. You can rest assured that this will hurt the industry.
darkblizzard
I don't really think they will be more strict in general, but i know they are going to make it extremely hard for rockstar to pump out the next GTA on the 360. mad.gif
