Hackers and gamers alike have been shocked at Senator "Hillary Clinton" and Jack Thompson's claim to move San Andreas from a "mature" rated game to a "Adults Only" game. A new mod, called "Hot Coffee" releases a pre-existant code locked inside of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas that brings you inside a house when on the games character, "Carl Johnson" goes on his fourth and/or final date with any one of his girlfriends. This mod is not only on the PC version, but Gamespot.com found out that it also works on the PS2 version of San Andreas. No word of the Xbox version as of yet.

Senators such as Hillary Clinton and Jack Thomas are Speaking out against Rockstar's lastest game, "GTA: San Andreas" and pushing the Entertainment Software Ratings Board for harsher reviews and deeper testing of games. All these actions and pleas by our country's senators seem WAy blown out of portion for younger videogamers and have a lot of older gamers a little angry at why the congress has to care so much.

My opinion on this matter is that Gamers already know what they are getting.

Hillary Clinton rotfl.gif

Ask her hubby how morals played a part in his life. If anything, the Lewinsky scandal did more to corrupt the moral fiber within the USA than any video game can. Hell, Clinton's life may have even inspired some of GTA.

Only a Presidential affair could have children all over the Country asking their parents, "what's oral sex?". Though I do agree the content in this game should be limited to a specific age group.

now did that have anything to do with the affair itself, or how it was dragged out on the news...?

i think its perfectly fair to have an 'adults only' rating on a game that has user controlled, simulated sex... what else could you use that rating for anyway? seeing as sex is the hypocritical christian section's hot-button, surely that minigame would set it over as opposed to violence...

i surely wouldnt want my nephew playing that, and a huge section of this forum isnt mature enough to be playing that... and seeing as the mature rating is forever being passed up by parents, maybe the AO would make them think twice about buying something for their 12 year old moron that isnt aimed at, or appropriate for them...

The affair was the catlyst. If Billy-bob kept willy jr. behind closed doors, then the media would have been reporting the same hum-drum prez biz. Any free-media would sacrfice thier best employee for a shot to report such a scandal. Thats commercialism in a nut shell, sex sells, shock sells, scandals sell. We live amongst a society that hungers for such tales. If we did'nt the press would'nt report it.

I really couldn't care less what Congress does to censor games. Pure violence doesnt make a game interesting. The best game I ever played was Legend of Zelda Wind Waker. Yeah it had your typical monster slaying, but was no more violent than your average fairy tale.

If Congress passes strict laws to limit the sales of violent content on games, then developer's just need to get more creative. Zelda proves you don't need sheer blood, guts, sex and gore to produce a good game.

Rockstar simply takes the easy way out upon producing a game, they know sex & violence sells, so to me that's unoriginal. Yes its interesting gameplay, but if it dies off then I'm certainly no going to beat my head against the wall and its definitely not a battle worth fighting.
