Phillips don't usually get along well with CD-R/-RW but most of them will read quality DVD-RW discs (ie MCC) Fujifilm DVD-RW made in Singapour and Verbatim DVD-RW made in Singapour will be MCC.

Phillips will read:
CD-RW and DVD-R without much trouble! Some very early phillips were able to read CD-R, but not newer ones.

I own a few XBOX's with Phillips and all read DVD-R very well!!!

As a whole though, Phillips drives do not read CD-R, -RW. I certainly wouldn't be wasting a CD-R or CD-RW considering you can pick up high quality TY DVD-R for less than 30 cents a disc shipped and these are pretty much gauranteed to work with ANY DVD-ROM drive in the XBOX.
