yeah, im trying to ignore the fact that I see jaggies though. maybe its the way the pic was grabbed(Im looking for excuses)
twistedsymphony
I would imagine that AA is one of the last things they do... what with Physics, AI, Animation, etc. to deal with...

You've got to finish baking the cake before you can put on the icing on the cake; so to speak.

Though, you know, that could be a GREAT justification for buying an HD CRT set... natural AA tongue.gif
Deftech
Im assuming youre talking about smaller crt tube sets, smaller pic, jaggies are less noticable.

jaggies were herendous on my Pioneer HD 53", I sold rainbow six 3 because it looked so putrid, lol. alls I saw while walking down a hall were jaggies the size of my arm. blink.gif
incognegro

have you people read anything about the game?

It's not an FPS in the least. Its more like Deus Ex but with less shooting and more bludgeoning. You play as a detective trying to solve a string of serial killings and the guy in the screenshots isn't the main character.

I saw a 5 minutre gameplay footage trailer about 3 months ago.

You pick up stuff you find on the floor like tubes connected to a pipeline and tools etc and you beat people to death with them. He hada pistol with like 3 ammo in it for a while and then a little zap gun (with the little cord extension) but it's not a fps. It's just a fps fighter thriller.

Nothing like doom.

Ive seen quite a few vids and from what I saw, the whole "solve a murder" thing takes back a back seat to using a fuggin pipe almost the entire time.

That would be like walking around in HalfLife with nothing but a crowbar..eff that.

everything seemed boring and slow. I felt no tension whatsoever while watching.

And when he wasnt beating something, he was watching others beat others.

I'll save my $60.00, unless I see a LOT more puzzle solving and a lot less beating with pipes.

These games don't interest me anyways.
The farthest I'll go with a gritty type of fp game is something like Prey. Quake Is RIGHT at the edge. i'm not all for the biodegraded human suffering type of plot, such as from quake (quake 4 especially) and doom, but since PREY is a sci fi shooter with just gruesome looking aliens and an interesting sounding plot, then yeah i'd go for that.

the game informer article said there was a lot of puzzle solving-- that's how the whole game progresses...

and of course the early gameplay videos are only going to show the bludgeoning. If they only showed puzzle solving, all the fps fans would lose interest immediately tongue.gif

I hope youre right.

But for all the games I have on my list to buy, the ones that are still in the "possibly" column have to impress me big time, and the early footage I saw not only didnt do that, it bored me to death.

I cant imagine anyone wanting to beat things all day and night. If they liked what they saw and dont care about any other possibilities, gamers really are becoming shallow sad.gif

puzzles, goosebumps, good graphics, good music, decent weapons(not a pipe), and Im there.

I hope it turns out good, you can all give a review, and it'll just be another reason the 360 rocks beerchug.gif
