I had a customer come to me with a Canadian edition Cystal XBox that another installer had screwed him around with and it wasn't working. I opened it up and noticed that it had a dusty Thompson DVD drive in it mfg. date 2001, I pretty sure this isn't the stock drive.
Does anyone know what DVD should be in the Canadian edition Cystal XBox?

Mine has one of the newer Phillips. He definetly replaced it with the Thomson.

ive seen a couple with thompsons the other guy probally took his and replaced it with the thompson

Look at the mfg date of the crystal to see...the dvd rom drives I have seen have been no more that 9 months older than the xbox mfg date.
