Sure i know how. First you have to wait untill saturn, mars, venus and the 4th moon in the milky way galaxy are all perfectly alligned with earth. Then once they are you only have one minute to stand in a kiddie pool, wearing a moo-moo, floaties around each arm, an "im with stupid" hat that has an arrow pointing down, and spin around 4 times on your left leg while holding your right leg with your left arm around your back while in your right hand you are choking a chicken and saying "cacapoopoopeepee shire" 5 times in a row. After successfully completing that you have to sit down with your back facing north by northeast with two controllers, one in each hand, and press at the exact same time: A, Y, Left Trigger, B, Up, Left Thumbstick down, Black, X, Right, the Right Trigger. Then once you have dont that is perfect order on both controllers you have to unplug the second controller and plug the dvd dongle in the same controller port within half a second of unplugging the controller. Once the dvd dongle is in you have to press the "select" button 15 times while pressing "A" on the controller 15 times. If you managed to complete all this within that one minute that all those planets are alligned you will get host........I swear it

Actually I think my cusin did this once, but he held his left leg with his right arm and fucked the whole procees up BIG TIMe! true story.

Yeah, it is very important that you hold the right leg with the left arm otherwise this causes the flux capacitor inside of the xbox that determines who gets host to implode thus messing up the whole space/time continuim and creates a domino effect and explodes every xbox connect to LIVE at that time.

In 2000+ games I have gotten host around 10 times with Sbc Yahoo DSL. So dont try that.

I gotta say cowbell your previous one was better, I think i sh*t myself when I read foxracr's post. The part that really gets me is the flux cupacitor i keep burning mine out when i try the button combo. But in doing so i learned that when i stand on my roof naked @ midnight yelling cuss words, that i got an extra 10 sec's so its totally worth it.
Oh ya i heard if you have a bottle in your........ butt ( ) you get a super power time of plus another 10 secs.

im not on alot becuase my mic is broke and i dont like playing without one. and the entire standbying thing isnt actually something i try to do, my connection just drops and bad times, like right before arming a bomb, or killing cowbell or basso, or anyother peep that wants my sniper rifle.

I can post a tutorial on how to force host, you get host 100% of the time. It’s funny how people say get a better connection, a 128Kbps upstream dsl user can get host over five Optimum Online users 100% of the time.

But wouldn't that make the gameplay really laggy?

I used to have 128kbps upstream at one point and hosting more than 5-6 players on XLink would start to suck big time.

Yes it would be really laggy. I made this one guy with Bellsouth dsl host, his connection sucked because he could not even host 10 people. It was a game with 14 players & everybody had a solid red connection, of course we kept on winning because the host was not lagging. That’s just an example how even the slowest connection can get host every time. The real question is if Bungie will be able to fix it or not..

So yes it's true, there is a way to get host every time. I all ready made a tutorial but I am undecided when I want to release it, as you know by now a lot of people don't know how to do it yet.

With Dsl it depends on how close you live to the phone company and the type of wiring you have in your house.

How fast are your downloads? Mine is about 72kbs max, usually less.

I know, we could get Cox cable, but we have a year contract with SBC, plus I dont pay for the internet, so I have no say in it. Next year, I will be in college, so hopefully the T1 they have will suit me.

I have Comcast cable. It's very fast. I am usually host 4 out of every 5 games.

I know this is an uber noob question, but I rarely play on LIVE because I can't get broadband at my house. (I play on occasion from work or a friend's place.)

How do you tell which person has host? I've seen it posted before, but I don't remember.

as soon as the games starts hit the back button and the first persons logo to show up is host.

It used to be a whole lot easier. You would have your whole team hold black (?) at the beginning of the game, and if someone on your team had host, their would be a blue square around their symbol above their head.

Then standby was invented and everyone exploited this.

This is why I ccouldn't do it anymore...I knew there was some indicator. Too bad standby noobs ruin it.
