Well... where the hell are xbox live accounts stored?

As far as I know you cannot access an Xbox Live account through FTP.

I formatted my xbox and I don't wanna overwrite my formatted hard drive with my backup cause my backup is all fucked up and has no ms dash and stuff so I just want to transfer my xbox live accuonts a a few other things and I thought.. so right now im just transfering my old TDATA and UDATA folders in E:/ because I've been told thats where saves are and well a xbox live accounts a save isn't it?


EDIT: I'm going to make a full backup of what it is now and try sending over every folder except C:\. This is going to take a while but I'll get it right eventually.

Just copied EVERYTHING from my old E:/ to my new E:/ (Well not the Apps, Games, Trainers folders ect) but everything else TDATA UDATA Cache and it still won't find the xbox live gamertags... ANYONE PLEASE HELP!

You can't move your account thru ftp.
Use either a memory card, or account recovery.

Well then how is it stored on your xbox? You can't it through ftp? Why :S? If it shows up in xbox memory on the ms dashboard wouldn't it be stored on the hard drive? Also, whenever I do account recovery it says the credit card is invalid even though I'm putting the same credit card in I used too register two accounts with.

You might just have to buy a memory card or borrow one from some one you know. That seems like the only way since you CANNOT get to it through FTP.

You don't understand I have two memory cards except I don't know where the xbox live accounts are.. I have my full xbox in a folder on my computer but I don't have anything to copy to the memory card cause I don't know whats the xbox live accounts :S.

Do you still have the stock hd in the xbox? you need to use the memory card in the xbox, not the computer.

I have the stock hard drive but my xbox got reformatted (the reason i did this was so i could get to the ms dashboard again)

Run either UIX or Unleash X and go into the memory / save games section and copy the save in there to your memory pack. Then on the new xbox run UIX / UX and copy the save from the mem pack to the xbox.

EDIT: If you dont have the m$ dashboard UIX and Unleash x both have the savegame managment. Id reccomend UIX but its your choice.

Do THIS:

Download UIX from the "Usual Place"

Get the fonts and audio package, aswell as the core dash files.

Read the .nfo on how to install UIX

Whilst it is on both HDD's use it on the aftermarket one to copy the XBL save in the memory managment menu.

Now it is the simple process of copying it to the stock HDD.

It isnt that hard =P



As for the FTP thing, i think that the save becomes corrupt when you try to FTP it.

Im thinking that the save could be stored on c:\ but i dont have XBL so i dont really know

Yeah one problem. I'm using 1, yes ONE stock hard drive, no updated ones, no bigger ones anything. I have 1 back up of my original xbox folders that had the xbox live save on my computer but I've tried copying over the full E:/ drive and it still doesn't find the xbox live accounts. Pretty much I want to commit suicide, I've been trying since 7:00 this morning which is about 12 hours and I've tried account recovery about 300 billion times but it just says the fucking credit card is incorrect.

Shit of a problem. Try copying the contents of c:\ as the accounts may be stored in the xonlinedash part of c:\

Either that or stab somthing to get that rage outa ya

I read somewhere that account info is not accessable through normal means because it is not stored in file format on the hdd..

Dude I don't want to copy back my C:\ drive cause thats the whole reason I formatted my C:\ drive was fucked over and didn't even have ms dashboard. I'm gonna phone up xbox live and end my account subscription and I'm done with xbox live.

yeah, ever notice that you can`t see your account on your memory card either? I wonder how they did it.

Just use the damed account recovery feature.

If you get problems recovering the account phone the XBox customer support line and make sure you are putting in the right information.

It is very very easy to do.

The Xbox live account is not in your backup of the hardrive as it is not a file. This has been covered in the past and someone explained where it was stored at least once.

I heard that an xbox live account is not the same as a regular gamesave or a profile or anything. It is something that is actually patched or in some way attached to some part of your xbox. In other words, it is not stored on your E: drive or in any other location on your hard drive. There are only one way to get your account back. Account Recovery.

Just use account recovery from the M$ Dashboard.
