Textbook
X2 5035 bios !

with the X2 5035 you get a logo on starup, 498x can't do that

What startup logo are you referring to?

I say the IND-Bios are the best ph34r.gif

iND-BiOS has allways been good to me, loved it since the start and never looked back =P

I reccomend it to everyone
b3aner
i got slayers auto figured it would be the easiest to start with and i can always change it cant i?
KyesaRRi
Slayers is a dashboard called evox

Slayers isnt a bios, im not sure if the disk has a bios on it so dont ask me =P

EDIT: Forgot to mention that evox make both a BIOS and a DASHBOARD
b3aner
so i need something else then? just thought of this too. doesnt the sp ice come with a preloaded bios or is that just an os?
KyesaRRi
It should come with cromwell / flash bios

You then get a bios from the usual places, burn it to a disk and insert the disk into the dvd drive

The xbox will boot into a blue screen, flash the bios and turn itself off

Then your all done, power back on and the xbox will have its new bios flashed to the chip

Then you insert your slayers disk and install evox so you can gain FTP acess to the xbox.

ok i narrowed down my problem i dont know what programs in need to burn or how to burn my bios to a disc
KyesaRRi
I posted in your other thread. Read over the tut in there

on my xenium i usually just ftp the bio over onto the xbox and have it flash from hdd. i forget the size that is needed i think it's 1024, but don't go out doing this without makin shure. if u do decide to burn i think u get the bios to the right size(256k or 1024k) and some would add a dummy file(any file that is rather large 100megs+) rename the bios the bios ur going to use to bios.bin and burn.

burning programs most use Nero(free trial or not)

posted this in other thread but ill add to this one too. all the files i have are an sfv or rar file do i need some other program to change this file? i looked for a tutorial but didnt see. and by the way thank you guys so much. you all have made this easier than i ever thought it could have been. i just noticed there is also a msinfo document ive tried opening these files but to no avail
KyesaRRi
A .rar is like a .zip

Download win RAR to extract the files [.bin] from the .rar
b3aner
ok its done but now there are 2 differant bin files do i have to choose one and remove the other? m8plus and m8plus_16
KyesaRRi
m8 plus is for xbox v1.0 - v1.5

m8 plus 16 is for the xbox v1.6 - v1.6b
Hazanko
yes, so "slayers" is the same as evox?
b3aner
no slayers is your dashboard u need to find a bios if u look thru all my topics all the questions u have will be answered
KyesaRRi
Team EVOX make:

A dashboard, at one time it was "THE" dash to use

A Bios, basic bios, good if you dont want anything too fancy or if you want to get into bios modding

You have there the evox m8 bios

Slayers is a auto install disk that uses evox. Good if you dont know much about the evox.ini and if you just want a new dash up and running real quick
Hazanko
aaaaaaaaaaaaah.. thx, for clearing that up. tongue.gif
