Seems I can't see any files on over the network, files from the HDD run fine. The network share pages just shows up blank on the Xbox. Any ideas? Using 05_April build.

Yep, same here. I can get as far as the top-level direcory on my Linux Samba box, but it just dies if I select anything. sad.gif

The only share I can actually see the contents of is my shared cd burner. And that doesnt work with packetwriting software installed on my computer. So I feel your pain. sad.gif

I have 2 linux shares and 2 windows shares - the windows shares show files and the linux shares show up but won't show files.

Anyone know how to fix this? My fileserver is running linux so the majority of the stuff that I want is on those shares.

Hooray! Someone else with exactly the same problem as me. I'm not going mad after all. huh.gif

Sorry, that doesn't fix your problem does it....nor mine. sad.gif

Maybe it's an access rights problem. Linux Samba is very strict, unlike Windows.

Found a fix for us!

http://www.xboxmediaplayer.de/cgi-bin/ib31...t=ST;f=2;t=3323

I copied most of that guy's samba setup, save for a few things. The main issue seems to be setting security = share.

This fixed my problem.
