Ok, heres the sitiation. Im moving, i have no access to my Pc because its in storage. Im visiting my dad and i want to use his computer to ftp my xbox to delete some stuff i dont need off it. Im using internet explorer since i dont have filezilla like i have on my personal pc. This worked previously on my pc with IE, now it wont work on this one, heres what im doing:

Tcp setting were: ip:192.168.1.4
Sub:255.255.255.0
Gateway:192.168.0.1

My xbox ip was 192.168.1.5
sub/gateway was same as above

I put ftp://xbox:@xbox@192.168.1.5 for the address in internet explorer. But i get a "the server name or address could not be resolved" whenever i try to connect. In network connections it says its connected, so i dont see what the problem is.

Any help appreciated

IE sucks, id say just download the trial version of Flash FXP. Or try Smart / Cute FTP. Any Dedicated FTP app is better that M$'s hybred do everything internet explorer.

change your box ip from 192.168.1.5 to 192.168.0.5 and then try again....also if using xp...make sure the built in firewall is disabled.

what you need to put in the address bar is ftp://xbox:xbox@192.168.1.5

NOT ftp://xbox:@xbox@192.168.1.5 (note the @ between the name & password)

also, how is your xbox connected to your dad's pc? router?, crossover cable?

ok thank you BigDaddyShoo, i knew that something looked a little off with the address.
