[FONT=Courier][COLOR=blue]I am haveing problems with burning .mpg.mvw.mp3 or any movie file to a dvd-r and getting my xbox (1.1) to read it. I have wasted some 10-15 discs trying to get the xbox to read these clips and movies i have and are having no luck in getting it to work.

i have burnt dvd-r discs in udf, iso, and joilet and all seem to have the same symptoms , only sees a max of 40 files in any root and will not play files in folders . these same files work fine when burnt to a dvd-rw media or on hard disk but i have tried pioneer dvd-r x4 disc's and princo 1 spins and other brands with no luck at all. unsure.gif

to burn to dvd-rw disc is futile but i suppose i havent tried burning to a pioneer dvd-r x4 disc at 1 spin but doubt that this make any difference .

i am using xbmp version 2.3 and it has played most of my stuff off hard disk but would like to get the dvd-r side working .

i'm not burning these disc with xiso, i'm using easy cd creator 6 which has no problems burning to the dvd-rw . and i doubt that its the burning software.

most help gratefull

And another edit :-)

The 40 files thing is a bug, don't know if it's fixed in the later versions...

If you do 2 movies on a disc do they play??

I made a disc with MP3 albums and had no trouble playing them (don't think I had over 40 folders though...) Burned with Prassi Primo DVD, Nero woul'dn't work...

What speed do you use to burn?!?

[COLOR=blue]Yes but only in the root of the disc d:

[COLOR=blue]i have 4 different types of media 2 of these are 4 spin the others are 1 spin and they all have the same problem .

but i'm wondering if it's the media player that cant read the disk or its the xbox dvd drive that cant read correctly .

and before u ask i cant remember what type of drive i have

if i put a a file in 1 folder and then 10 in the root of the disc . when you try to play the film in the folder it plays the first track in the root instead .

i have heaps of short films and i started to use the xbox to play them but still cant patham whay it works with a dvd-rw and not with normal media .

Yes really strange that it works on rewritable and not regular media. I would give Record Now Max (or Prassi Primo) a try as a lot of people here are using it and have no problems with it.

As I said my MP3's work ok, I don't have a lot of small video files, so I can't test that for you, sorry!

ok i'll give it bash

but i discovered that my $175.00 AUD dvd player has no problems with any of the dics that i burnt and has many more features than the xbox media player ever did . so i might just not bother .

Anyway thanks a bunch
