i have an old comp on working on right now and im trying to install that broad band cd on it so i can use it for web surfing(233Mhz PII 160 SDRAM, old xbox HD biggrin.gif ) but when i put in the cd after it back up the regertry all the letters disapear where they should be. i also want to convert my HD to NTFS. so whats the easiest way and i dont really care if i have to format the thing as i have nothing on it.

you have DSL i'm assuming? and letters where? drive letters? and for the NTFS, as i'm sure you know your going to need windows 2000 or XP. you can boot to recovery console or command prompt and type "convert drive_letter: /fs:NTFS" and that will do it.. or you can just re-install the os and choose "NTFS" before you install..
Cheerio
you dont want NTFS on a p2. FAT32 is much more efficient for old procs.
