yeah the less beating the better. If they want my 60.00, they'll need to get a lot of puzzle solving and mystery stuff in there. this is the 1st vid that has peaked my curiosity, you know first hand the others bored me to death.

Some of those pics are good looking... Some have some ridiculously low poly models in them, the lighting in all of them is amazing... but all of them have some ridiculous jaggies... no AA at all

this is looking better, still loads of low poly models though, fucking hell, how am i supposed to have faith in the 360 when every launch game looks like 1.5 gen shit.

seriously, not all convey the image of not being next gen. PGR 3 is awesome, Recon 3 looks stellar with the massive explosions and such. Oblivion, is well, Oblivion.

Seriously, I was shocked by how good "some" of these games look.
I had very low expectations, maybe that's the difference here.
But damn it, just look at Gears of War.
One look at that game and it's all the reassurance you'll ever need.

Here's a test go to the MS website and download some WMV-HD videos and run them on your computer...

to give you an example of how much power is required to pump out HD graphics... my PC has trouble just running VIDEO at next gen resolutions... that to me is just mind boggling...

DO NOT look at cross platform titles. Even in generations past cross platform/cross generation titles have looked like crap on the more powerful systems..

Well, they won't look like junk if they are made for the PS3 and Xbox360 or the Xbox360 and PC (<no brainer). If it is made for ps3 and ported to Xbox360, it won't be stunning, but shoulnd't be dissapointning either.

doa4 looks almost identical to doa ultimate, gears of war does look good yes, though i haven't seen footage of it as impressive as the unreal 3 videos that were displayed

war devil hasn't even released in-game shots how can you even list that?

prey looks decent, but the doom 3 engine already looks shitty in comparison to gears of war
and don't get me started on how crappy quake 4 looks

oblivion is an overbloomed-to-mask-its-low-poly-count engine, and isn't that impressive, especially with bethesda's shitty art direction imho (i'm a morrowind hate r btw)

resident evil 5's pics couldn't have been in game, they were twice as good as anything else shown, if they are real, then i will be more than happy

dark sector looks fucking AMAZING, that's what I was realistically expecting next gen games to look like, i'm surprised more people aren't talking about that game

pgr3 looks good too, i was disappointed by its first showings, but it's getting better and better

even that video of condemned showed improvement today

but to that one dude who was saying "A GAME ISNT DONE UNTIL THE LAST TWO MONTHS OF DEV" i don't think you realize how little the graphics can possibly change in the few months devs have left to develop, sure they can add bells and whistles and lighting effects, but to redo all the geometry and art would take way too long, and that's where lots of the launch titles are lackluster

but yeah, there's definitely some promising titles on the horizon, im probably just jaded from the smoke and mirrors bullshit sony presentation (part of me wants to believe ps3 games will actually look as good as the warhawk video, and the final fantasy tech demo)
