I know its a WD 40 gig. All i see is WD400 and I don't know if it is lockable or not. I checked the chart but I dont see the kind I have. But I figured its a 50/50 chance. I tried locking it using XBOXHDM but I got an error about something with ATA security. Now I guess my question is can I lock it someway? Or can I play wit it unlocked? I have a softmod btw. Thanks for the soon to help come fellaz biggrin.gif

I get an error 5 on my XBOX which means unlocked HD. So any help is appreciated.

if you have a softmod then it has to be locked. there is an easy way to lock it, if you have a friend with a hardmod then just flash his eeprom with urs and then he could lock the drive with his xbox.

So I cant use XBOXHDM or any other apps to lock my HD using my computer?
CamdogXIII
well if you already used xboxhdm and it didn't work then i would try to lock it with another xbox. and if that doesn't work then the drive isn't lockable.

guessing its a new hd he cant just lock it, he has to put the m$ dash on there first and lock it. xboxhdm does both.

you can lock a brand new drive just fine. i assume you backed up your eeprom.bin and put it in the eeprom folder of xboxhdm, right? is it saying that the drive is freezing? or does it just say that it can't lock it?

if it's the drive freezing, turn off autodetect in the computer bios. otherwise, it's probably that the drive can't be locked.

It will lock, its just the odd drive that doesnt. If it doesnt, take it back, they have good guarantees.
