Im curious why u would need a network chip? Do the chips tend to burn out a lot on xboxes, cause if so Ive never heard of it.

check the 'general hardware' forum... you'll notice there are quite a few "ethernet" problems... many are due to the ICS chip failing.

Commonly the symptoms are "the port has an amber light that is always on" or it can also be "i get an error 21 when booting to the dashboard, but i can use the OS of my modchip and see contents on both the hard drive and the dvd drive but i'm unable to ftp into the box". Unless physically damaged..usually the port itself is fine, so that leaves the PHY chip as the culprit.

as for "do they burn out regularly" ..as a % of xboxes out there..probably not. but it does happen

I was thinkin i might need 1 of these chips, cus wen i try to play on live, my connection gets really laggy, any ideas?

every replacement i've sold so far was for a non-functioning chip. I'm not sure if there is a "middle ground" with these chips. So far all i've seen is..they either work or they dont. Sorry..maybe check with perplexer as he's dealt with a bunch of these.
