Hi all,

Just wondered if you can help me out i've got an unmodded xbox with an intermittant boot and frag problem. when the error occurs it attempts to start 3 times then frags, however if you pull the plug on it and drain the cap's it boots perfectly and plays games until your hearts content, but after a while if you press the eject button to get you disk back then it displays the symptoms.

So far i've replaced the 5 3300mf caps on the mobo but that hasnt helped so I wonder if anyone else has seen this happen to an unmodded xbox.

I'm guessing then that you have a 1.2-1.5 xbox with the 2-3300uf 10V and 3-3300uf 6.3V. It almost sounds to me as a problem with the PSU and irregular voltage outputs which may be due to heat stress.

Definitely something that you will need to slowly trace back as you take reading. Sorry but I don't think you will find a simple answer for it unless you luck out.
