How would I change my dashboard to EVOX? I tried using search didnt find anything.
Theillestg69999
EDIT: NVM I have EVOX but IT IS AN OUTDATED DASHBOARD! There is no boot to MS dashboard, or no emulators option. I am used to the one in krazyies version. So how would I replace mine with that?
CattyKid
Get evox from the usual places. Then, boot up your xbox and run XBox FTP client/avalaunch/linux so that you can have ftp access to your box without having Evox running. Then, just FTP over evoxdash.xbe and evox.ini to the root of C:. Put skins where you want, them, and any other cool stuff, like apps, if you want, too. Check where to put them in your .ini.

copy evoxdash.xbe or whatever and evox.ini to your c drive.

What is the latest version of EVOX?
EvilShindo
Vr.3935, though i can't see why you just don't install a dashboard like UnleashX or Avalaunch, thus EvoX hasn't been updated in about 1-2 years i think.

Ya that sounds better to. How would I go about replacing my EVOX with avalauchn?

Textbook
To find any dashboard, you know to find it at the usual place. Once you get one, there will usually be a default.xbe , a few folders maybe, and either a evox.ini (EVOX) , a avalaunch.xml (AVALAUNCH) or a config.xml (UNLEASHX).

How is your xbox modded? If you used a chip or TSOP, what BIOS did you use? And where is the evoxdash.xbe that you are using now located?

Softmods and hardmods load up dashes in different locations, so that's the only reason why I'm asking. You will have to rename the default.xbe for the dash that you download to evoxdash.xbe (if you have a hardmod). If you have a softmod, it will most likely go in E:/Dashboard and be kept the name default.xbe.

I am using a softmod. And I know how to connect to the xbins
Textbook
Download the dash you want and FTP it to E:/Dashboard. Don't have to rename anything! I'm assuming you're using a newer softmod.

Umm okay in my avalunch folder. Theres 6 files:

media
screenshots
shoutcast
avalunch (xml document)
default.xbe
releasenots.xxxx

should there be more than that? Do I just put all those folders in and delte everyhting thats in there rigth now?

Textbook
Delete everything that is already in there and put all of those files / folders into the E:/Dashboard.

Thanks TEXTBOOK I got it working perfect. biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif But ONE problem. I cant get my emulators working. I put them in E:/emus and I reboot and it doesnt show up under emulators or anywhere. sad.gif
Textbook
You will have to edit the avalaunch.xml file. Open it in notepad and scroll to the very bottom.

QUOTE
  <list presetname="Emulators">
    <path>
    E:\Emus
    </path>
    <path>
    F:\Emulators
    </path>
  </list>
  <item presetname="File manager" function="FileManager"/>
  <item presetname="IRC" function="IRC"/>
  <item presetname="Telnet" function="Telnet"/>
  <item presetname="Settings" function="Settings"/>
  <item presetname="Restart" function="Restart"/>
  <item presetname="Shutdown" function="Shutdown"/>
  </menu>
</user>
</avalaunch>

Notice the code in blue. Make sure that is the same.

EDIT: Or, get on AIM, send me your avalaunch.xml file and I will edit it and send it back to you if you don't know how to change it yourself.
