i'm trying to ftp w/ my pc for the fist time. i've got a cross-over cable, and my network settings on the evox.ini file is set to "static ip" The addresses on the xbox and pc are different (no dhcp on pc), but on the evox "settings" screen, the top ip (assuming what should be my pc ip) doesn't show up, everything else looks good (line status sees the crossover, xbox ip looks good). Furthermore, when i use flashfxp, they say that there's a connection timeout and never connects. I've tried turning off pc firewall and another cross-over cable w/ no luck. Any suggestions would be appreciated, thx

the IP from xbox and PC should be different. look at the FTP guide in my sig.

thx for the quick response. that tut was my bible in setting this guy up, and i took another look at it to make sure i didn't do something stupid, and i'm pretty sure its all good. Evo.ini file is exactly the same as described, but still no info in blue section under "ip" or "type" am i SOL at this point?

do you have something to test the crossover cable? make sure it works, did you configure the comp too?

i used the cable to hook up 2 xbox's w/ the M$ dash and cable works. computer is set up w/ the settings in the tut u supplied (bible as i said, thx!) Still no luck w/ ftp. I simply gave up on the direct connection, and used a router to get the connection leaving the original dhcp on my comp in tact and changed the evox.ini file to not use static ip. all seems good now. thx for all the help.

p.s. if there is any soln w/ the direct connect w/ cross-over i'd love to hear it so i don't have wires running all over the place
