Its not finding the MS dash....its the clock error and it can't load the MS dash to fix it. Reload the MS dash.

Depends on your chip.....or put the HD in your buddies box and run slayers or any other autoinstaller that will reload the MS Dash files

is that right, since his hdd works in his buddy's xbox? sounds a little funny to me. i read his problem as:
his xbox boots to a dashboard error. he put his hdd in another xbox, and it works. he put someone else's hdd in his xbox, and it doesn't....so it doesn't matter which hd is in the xbox, the problem lies elsewhere.

why can't you do this
if there is a stock MS dash on you HDD then you can set the clock

from you post all HDD are unlocked (with no MS dash) and all xbox's are chiped ?
put you HDD in a different xbox uses slayers2.6 or a copy of the MS dash to restore the C:\ then put HDD back in your xbox
or flash a bios thats skips the clock check (if you can, the way the xbox is now)
does this sound like your problem ?

maybe ur chip isn't wired to a 1.6/b xbox, maybe ur friends box isn't a 1.6 and urs is, your chip isn't compliant with a 1.6. has it EVER worked?

yeah i used to be able to swicth hdds and chips and all that and everything would work fine, but then one day the xbox just stopped working and now nothing works in my xbox, but my stuff works in his, neither of us have a 1.6
i just dont understand why my hdd works in his xbox, and if i were to use slayers it will work on mine? if i dont have the clock or w.e on my hdd it should work in his, correct?

Sounds to me like the chip aint working in your box and your M$ dash is corrupt.

how would my chip stop working in my xbox though? cus it works in his... and where did my ms dash go? i could never get to it before, when i tired it would just bring me back to evox, but then one day the xbox just didnt turn on anymore....what could have caused this?

Your box has always booted evoxdash but not the original M$ dash. One day your chip stops working so the box tries to boot the retail dash. It can't because the dash files are messed up so it gives error 13. Your chip has not gone faulty but maybe something like the D0 has come loose etc.
the key to the solution is this.
Stop swapping parts about between xboxes or you are going to end up with 2 machines not working. As well as that you have confused everyone else on here me included as I can't work out which drives are locked unlocked etc.
First step. get the chip working in your box. Confirm it is working by booting with a back up or auto installer in the drive when you boot or make sure it has the evox logo, coloured X whatever on boot.
Second step. Once the chip is working boot the Xbox with an Auto installer (Slayers, AID 2.1) in the drive. Select the option to restore the retail dash and then re-install from the disc the evox dash as well.
Sorry for the long post

Error 16 is usually the xip files missing for the clock check.
You need to re-flash your chip with an evox M8 bios for the moment (You may well have to do this using the other box) as the M8 bios skips the clock check. This will allow you to boot discs as it won't throw up the 16 error hopefully.
