how can i tell what version an xbox is?

does it say on the box, or do you have to look somewhere special?

sorry i really did look too. i was searching through the forums for a long time and i just kept getting stuff about which mods will work. sometimes its tough to locate information like that cause its used in a ton of areas.

if there is following sign on your xbox:

A) ps2
gamecube

it might be a version one xbox. but we here in this forum are all using version two.

i know the new bundle packs come with the S-controller....i'm wondering if all those xbox's are the newer v1.2 because then i can't use a mod-chip with pogo....

so are there any bundle packs with S-controllers out there with xbox versions earlier than v1.2?
