Full Version: Error 21
I get error 21 when I try to boot up msdash with and with out modchip enabled(xbit) . I dont really know why it happend . I havent touch any files on C:\ , so I tried too reinstall the hdd(a 120gb hdd) with no luck :\
Are they any critical settings in avalaunch like video settings or something like that ?
usually means some MS dash file is corrupt or not signed properly
when you tried rebuilding C did you do it form your own backup or off a slayers cd? try slayers if you havent

I tried with the slayers cd .

Can you FTP into your Xbox when the chip is enabled?
A damaged NIC will sometimes give you error 21 when trying to access MS dash.

Try to wipe the FAT of the new HD in a PC.
I got error 21 once when I tried to install Linux in Native mode to HD in xbox.
The HD had already NTFS. I wiped it with zap.exe and then the installation
was as smooth as Long Legs bitter ale.

Yes , I have no problem to connect to xbox.

I can try too wipe the hdd .
I have sort of a similiar problem. I get the error 21 as well. I don't use softmod, i have an executer modchip. My xbox has been modded for a few years now with no problem. I've made no changes, downloaded nothing new from xbox live and all of a sudden i get this error 21. I can no longer access my HD either from the xbox or from ftping into it though i used to be able to. I've tried running Slayer and reformatting my HD but to its retail form but that didn't work either. BTW, the HD is retail still. My DVDRom is a Samsung.
I've searched on this site plenty and pretty much all i find is questions regarding softmod tricks or people that tried installing linux. I'm at quite a loss here and would really appreciate anyones help.
