check your D0 wire, this is a commen problem for fragging on chips. I know i had a crappy spidermod and i had to hold down one side to get it to work, try wiggling it disconnecting it and reconnecting it. and everything inbetween.

d0 shoul dbe ok since tis fragging (d0 forces the boot to adifferent area, if d0 was bad it woudl still boot normal with chip enabled)
instead check your LPC soldering, thats more liekly where the problem lies

Agreed, ive seen this on a few consoles, check your soldering on the LPC (quite likely to be the fault) or check the voltages on the LPC according the tut on the homepage and you'll probably find you have a problem just there, post back your results and either i or some one else may be able to help.
Good luck

Does the chip still have the black double sided tape stuck on one side? If so try removing and look at the traces on the chip. I had to do a D0 trace repair on a X2.2 before because the person trying to do the install fried the D0 connector on the chip. The trace was under the black tape and was not noticeable so the box would frag when he tried to boot from the chip.
Good luck
EDITS for spelling..
