First of all I new to all this jargon so just realized what frag meant and that my xbox is doing it.

FRAG - FLASHES RED AND GREEN. THE XBOX IS TELLING YOU SOMETHING IS WRONG AND IT CANNOT BOOT POSSIBLY DUE TO POOR SOLDERING.

Thing is it does boot, but not with everything. Before I can go into detail here's how my xbox is set up.

-duo x2
- optical drive replaced temporarly (w/ dvdrw drive), sharing power source of hd
- Flashes red and green
- blue xbox logo shows (means chip is working)
- duo x2 flashes red
- AID disc can run
- Halo 2 can't
- If I play with master and slave I get error code 9
- AID disc doesn't boot sometimes
- eject button doesn't work
- xbox doesn't boot with chip off (turns on and off after a second)

I think it's just because of the optical drive. For those who understand whats going on, let me know if it's the drive or a poor solder. Also, can it even run with a poor solder?

thats all because of the dvd drive

that is a problem with the chip or soldering, what version xbox do you have? (BTW, this is the situation generally referred to as "FRAG")

Thanks lordvader129, it's good to hear it's just the dvd. My friends bringing it back tomorow.

Also what point would it be that wouold cause it to shut off? d0?

could be, do you know what version your xbox is? it could also be another solder point on the LPC
angerynewb
It's v1.0

Kindof crazy since it boots with the chip on...I think that you probably ripped a trace going from the d0.

I doubt it was d0. It's most likely the dvd as lordvader129 said. I don't have the original dvd drive connected(currently being monded {see through top}). I temporarily have it replaced by a dvdr. Most likely they don't work the sameway.

Oh... what does d0 do?
