I'm experiencing a really weird audio problem with my Game Cube...

Some games (both backups AND originals) will have staticy sound coming out of the left channel.

I recently installed a Qoob SX... before I installed the chip I had my GC replaced by Nintendo for a model with component video outputs (so I can use it with my HDTV). I only tested the Cube with Resident Evil 4 before my install which happens to be one of the games without any problems.

It's really strange because it only affects certain sound effects on certain games and only on the left channel.

For instance in Resident Evil 1 everything sounds completely normal but when the "lightning" sound effect or the door open sound effect plays I get this weird sort of metallic static sound blasting through the left channel at about twice the normal volume.

It does this on both the original and backup version of several of my games.

I get the same sound problem regardless of whether or not the "Stream Fix" is enabled or disabled, and regardless of whether or not the Gamecube it set to Mono or Stereo.

Any help would be greatly appreciated cool.gif

I would have said to disable/enable the audio fix but it seems you already tried that. Might want to check the board to see if wires are grounded by the heatsink. Since most sound is working fine, I wouldn't bet that it's the cause.

Might want to unplug the chip altogether to see if the originals still have the problem.

yeah I know there is no grounding... I had a problem with that when I first installed the chip so there is already a layer of electrical tape between the chip points and the heatsink sad.gif

I'm going to try unplugging the chip.

If I can't figure this thing out I'm going to have to remove the chip altogether and ship the thing back to Nintendo for another replacement dry.gif
