Wow, I was the second one to vote? Odd.

Gman22

Oh, and no doubt I'll be getting the Premium one. The Core one makes no sense at all. Sounds to me like analysts said that the Xbox 360 would launch at $299.99, so MS thought that they had to.

Anyways...
DjO
I don't see how I could have an xbox without a hard drive in it.
Unless I win one with the mountain dew promotion I doubt I'll buy one at launch though.
br0w
premium, becuase the core package sucks.
dg945
I'm going to buy the core package. If I want to play xbox 1 games, I'll pull ou t my xbox 1...

Premium, only if I dont win the every 10 minutes, which I doubt I will.
CattyKid
Wow. Is this the return of the polls?
Ninjaman
I'll be getting the premium package and later on a core version to hack it. Just to be sure though...does the premium come with the dvd remote?...just wondering. oh! and is the hard drive like the hdd used in Xbox/computers where we can purchase one and upgrade it?...or is it specifially designed for the Xbox360 itself? smile.gif

It comes with the DVD remote until after Christmas. Then, no.
Also, the HDD is pretty much a 2.5" laptop HDD. So, theoretically, if we make a few mods, we may be able to hook a regular HDD up to it, but we haven't seen the connectors on the HDD yet, so no one knows.
At launch, no.
In the future... well, what have we done with XB1?
aznboi89x
this is the best deal ever for xbox 360 which includes hd, remote, wireless controller. headset, and xbox gold membership.
ps2 back then didnt do this kind of deal, it was only a ps2 system with 1 controller.. for $399
UnLckyN

The Core is a total waste of money compared to the premium. You save lots of money with the premium.
Charbless
I think the poll should have wont be buying any on there aswell.

sick_mate_xbox
i will probably buy the core package, since i never intend on using LIVE. i will just buy a cordless controller and a hard drive seperatly if could afford it.. probably not

Just on one of my boxes I have 20-25 friends that are in two or more box homes. One of these friends is the father of a College Freshmen and the other is a junior in High School. Both of which are very beautiful girl gamers. All three have their own boxes within the household including the father who comments the family that plays together, stays together!

Host of other friends are making adjustments to their budgets to get multi-units into their homes before Christmas. It just proves that even though the price is higher than market studies said gamers would openly spend. Serious gamers are showing that a little extra money isn’t much in the grand scheme of things to come with next-generation gaming.

Warning!

All the xboxes I have had break on me have taught me one thing. Game system makers dont make working systems.

Buy those extended warranties.

I will commit heresy and buy a PSP before a 360

With the Sony P2 you may have a point I have two gen-one XBOX units and one gen-two XBOX unit. All three are running without issue but then again I perform the necessary at home maintenance to all three of my units. Avoiding the common mistake of leaving any of them on the carpet is always a great thing not to do. As I have seen many times when visiting friends for Halo and Madden Parties. All three of my units average 20-40 hours a week with two grandsons that play Halo until I pry the controller from the fingers!!

Core and Premium system is a marketing gimmick....

Hey at least we'll all 'feel good' about spending the extra 100 bucks, i'm afraid that's the whole point because the informed customer will have no choice but to buy the premium.

Good work MS, because i think it will sell well.

I'm buying the premium package, but i might wait a while for a 'limited edition' this time.
mastersloth
It's gotta be the premium for me, core sucks tongue.gif

As with all things in just about every aspect of life whether it be business or home, change can be very difficult for some to deal with day to day. It seems somewhat contradictory considering the root reason gamers are going to be buying the XBOX 360 in the first place. Are we going to run out and spend more money on a new system because we want the same old thing? That’s just plain crazy!

Next generation gaming promises crisp, clean graphics and faster processing not to mention the next step into the wireless world. A platform that is designed with no cords to the controller or the headset is truly freedom. It’s a good thing being able to run downstairs from the game room to make a tall glass of ice tea or a sandwich without losing contact with other online gamers while you do so.

Anyone in my opinion that looks blankly into the future of gaming and worries whether they will be able to play Madden 2000 or the original Ghost Recon are individuals that are surely frugal and don’t necessarily want nor desire the advances offered with next generation gaming. Personally, I have been advancing with systems since the days of pong and I have never looked back.

Every change in gaming has brought better technical experiences and quality of the gaming experience. Regardless of the maker, each and every one of them had good consoles and good games at the time, but times change. Developers push the envelope to give the devoted gamers more of an experience and they do it for a reason, and that is revenue. “Tecmo Bowl” is surely putting groceries on somebody’s table, I don’t think so. The reality is the same though; we have advanced from “Tecmo Bowl” to a yearly release of Madden and the true gamer demands more in every release. The market grows stagnant and “real gamers” desire more from a system they paid hard earned money for in the first place. It’s comical to think that a developer would sit in a corporate meeting with numerous constinuants expounding “our gamers still need the ability to play Siphon Filter”. Yeah that theory is going to keep you making money and your business solvent.

Stop fighting progression and deal with it up front. Currently, I have three online gamertags and three different units in my home. Each of those units is filled with gamertags/gamers that are not questioning to buy the XBOX 360. Many are struggling on how they are going to be able to afford the XBOX 360 at all. Having to shell out big dollars to get the system, then take it home and not be able to play the older games while one recovers to buy an actual XBOX 360 game to play on their new found unit. That is why XBOX buckled and made concessions to provide the ability for backwards-compatibility but they did it at a price, and they passed that price along to those consumers. For me I am will be forced to buy the backward-compatible XBOX 360 system's to keep some of my backward-compatible online friends. It seems a necessity among online gamers to keep in touch with those folks that either have difficulty purchasing in hard times or simply have a difficulty changing with them.

Premium! Just seems like the better deal.

No Xbox Three Shitty for me. laugh.gif
TIMxIRISH
I got Premium vote number 666 muhaha.gif
C o s m o
Premium for the HDD, wireless, and HD cables. Already ordered at EBGames!
XBL_SUCKS
I am buying the Permium bundle not the Omega that I have seen online for 2000 US. I hope I get one. I need the HDD and 2nd wireless controller for long Perfect Dark Zero lan parties
Metal Storm
maybe it add in +/-.5 percentage points. but still that would make any sense rofl.

i just voted and it adds up to a total of 99.56. o_O

go figure...
cbrad
I'll probably end up getting the premium, for the value. Depends on how much cash i have on nov. 22.
Zeusydude
Still dont get this, MS preches about the HDD, and dont even include it in core, shit is so lame
ET ELIT3
Dude im definately getting the premium. If you were to get the core package and buy all that stuff later, it would be like $600!
MiXAL
I would go for Premium pack, but not before XBMC runs on 360. I have no use for out of the box 360.

I'm so happy the polls are back, I was so surprised.
parm89
Buy premium package, sell off extra's, and save a shit load of money!!
litium33
Premium of course, but I want to know if and how it can be modded b4 putting my money on it!

-> Modding is FUN
lordvader129
premium naturally, but probably not at launch, money is a bit tight, probably soemtime after christmas
m.e
I voted Core. Because ones the 360 is modded you will want to upgrade your hd and then you will have no use for the 40GB one that comes with the premium pack.

Also here is quote about the remote:
QUOTE
There will be two versions of the Xbox 360 remote control, used to navigate the console's media menus. The one you'll get (free) in the premium package as launch promotion will be the basic model. The larger one will sell separately, has more buttons and lights up, which will be useful for home cinema use.

thats assuming its that simple. after all the hdd upgrades we have with the first xbox, i'd be very surprised if the detachable harddrive used a standard ide connector. if its possible to upgrade the harddrive, i doubt it will be as simple as this one. even disregarding the harddrive, i think the better physical looks, the ethernet cable, the dvd remote, the wireless controller instead of wired, and the HD cables make the premium worth it over the core pack.
quarky42
I wasn't going to buy an X360 until it had been modded. I definately want XBMC on the 360 if at all possible. I'm addicted to internet radio through my sound system. (What a selection!)

I'd buy the core if there was a mod available where I could install my own harddrive and make my own changes to the box. I don't care for the looks of the old or new systems. It could be in a cardboard box for all I care... as long as it runs the games and runs them well. (Not dying/crashing/frying on you would be a nice added benefit though...I wonder if the 360 will come with a good power cable this time.)

I imagine that it will be cheaper to buy just the parts you want and make your own premium bundle in the next year or so. At first, no way... but I could see it happening. (Especially since I can get a really good 80GB laptop harddrive for $100... WTF 40gb at that price....) I look forward to after market adapters.

I may have won one on the every10minutes. (I don't trust MS as far as I can throw them though, so I'll believe it when I see it show up in 2 months.)

Bellum
I just need something to play Halo 3, Gears of War, and Ghost Recon on. I won't buy one until Halo 3 comes out, maybe even later to find out if those games suck.

Edit: That being said, I might buy the premium if those games are awesome and the rest of the features turn out to be key.
LightningStruckMyXbox
I am thinking about getting two. One core the other premium.

The core I will take apart and reverse engineer the other, play PGR3!
Evil-Chicken
The hard drive does more than allowing play of Xbox 1 games. It would be used for downloadable content, and from the sounds of things, most games will have some content to be downloaded. Also, some games will pre-load things on the hard drive, allowing possibly smoother gameplay or quicker load times.

Think about this, without the hard drive, you MUST pay 30 bucks for the memory card or you can't save; ON TOP OF THAT, you get a WIRED controller, wireless controllers are 50 bucks a pop if you ever wanted to upgrade.

So yeah, unless you are planning on buying a core just to disassemble it, you are kinda dumb to get core at launch. If you buy a core later because of a mod, that is a bit more understandable, but it'd still suck to have a wired controller.
Ray2Kay
Hi everyone,

I would just go for what i can afford at the time. Even though I already paid off the premium package. The truth is I just want great future games. Alot of people dont care about old games, and some do. Again I just want to feel like my 600$ is worth it.

P.S. Being a Disable veteran really sucks without the XBOX360
skater_4_life_ez
yeah i already payed for my premium pack soo yeah im getting the premium i also lateron buying the regular one if theres a driffrence but if not ill just buy another premium i already have like 3 xboxes they are working fine i really see no reason why not to buy the 360 at launch. most consoles work just cause the ps2 had a faulty laser dosent mean xbox 360 will look at gamecube most of the work great till this day some people with lost of dust in there house get disc read errors but yeah keep you house clean and dust free and it will last.
Lord Magnus
I was pretty pissed when I found out the 299 pack didn't have a hdd. But after a while, and some different points of view from people here at the scene, I decided to go for the premium. But also, that comment about playing xbox 1 games on xbox 1, is also very logical.
I still want the remote and HDD though... where else will I put the downloadable content? wink.gif

Edit: Also, I'm not a fan of the wireless controllers, so I'll get two wired controllers as soon as I get my 360 and try to sell the wireless one. That battery changing thing... I do not enjoy, nor do I enjoy paying more money for the charger.
lc204
I don't see how the premium is a better deal if Japan is paying $350 for it and we're paying $400. I still feel like I'm being screwed. At least with the core, I can use the controller on my PC and buy the accessories on ebay or something.
