They are at TeamXbox.
Here is a link.
Linky to TeamXboxI am not a football fan, but at least we see some improvment in a game that was looking pretty bad.

Average grass texture and they're all built like Arnie. But not bad for EA's low visual standard anyway.

I have to disagree.
Maybe its the past pics that were fugly that make these look so much better, but look at the faces, the helmets, the shoulder area of jerseys. I think it looks pretty damn good.
I dont like football video games, and I despise EA, but this looks better than I imagined it would coming from them, and it bodes well for the 360 and madden fans.
EDIT:
Look at the pic with the Bengal to the left. Look at his right leg and how its as if his pants are actually becoming wrinkled. Its the little details like that.
In that same pic, look at #88s face. Thats a long way from what weve seen.

EA failed miserably with the James Bond license.
No matter how hard they tried, their games never came close to Rare's masterpiece known as Goldeneye.
So what did EA do as its final effort before hanging its gloves?
They stole the actual game. Goldeneye: Rogue Agent was such a blatant rip off (I'm surprised Rare never sued them) and a clear indication at how desperate and how far (more fitting, how low) EA will go to get what it wants. In the end, they predictavely (and rightfully I may add) failed.
What does this have to do with the next gen verson of Madden 06?
Is it just me or the art direction of the Madden series to have taken a much different direction this time around? Hell the NFL draft commercial stayed true to traditional Madden art direction.
hahahhahaha These latest screens have an earie resemblance to the NFL 2K series art direction

I know are bit biased towards ea, well im not that cynical. Never bought their sports games cause they suck. I most say though, that im very impressed with those pics! Seriously, full 3d crowd in a football game!!? Ru serious? that has got to be the 35, 000 bizarre creations was talking about and the crowd doesnt even look second rate though. I got to give credit where its due.

The first picture doesnt look next gen but the 2nd one does. The football player on the second picture is very detailed (football jersey, thigh pads) its small details like that, that make it look next gen.

I hate madden as much as the next guy, but I have to say I'm impressed now. Grab the high res shots, and look to the bottom right of the 8 on Manning's helmet. Zoom in far enough, and you can read the word warning. With a little more interpretation, you can read the actual warning paragraph. That freaked me out.

The game wont be that high of resolution though..they could easily set up the models and then take pics at whatever res they wanted.
I'll wait till I see the game being played.

Wow those Hi res pics are insane. If you zoom in on Brook's eyes you can see the reflection of the stadium, thats some serious detail. Same goes with the Football the texture looks so real.

I hate EA with a passion (especially EA sports) and I have to admit that im impressed with these pics. I think they both look next gen for a 1st gen game, even the first pic. The only gripe I have had with all football games is how the skin textures on their arms look, it doesn’t seem to look as realistic as the skin textures on their faces.
I noticed back with the real time vid that was released that the crowds were all 3D and that alone is rather impressive. with the game making this kind of jump graphically this fast it makes you think what they could pull off with the right time to actually take advantage of the system. Like it was said I have to give credit where its due and this game surprised me.

They need to work out their animations and make sure the weather dynamics are head to head in the tech demo, and BOOM! I think you will have a great Xbox 360 Madden 06

NOW IMPROVE THE DAMN GAMEPLAY!!!!!
I hope they improve the game mechanics in this game.... I highly doubt it since this is EA we are talking about and all they do is add in a new gameplay feature and make the graphics better.... its not much of a shock to me to see that the graphics are so much better (this is a next gen system and its expected), I'm just curious as to what the new gameplay feature will be

Sep 21 2005, 03:14 PM
I think a great feature in any football game would be after the ref blows the whistle you can still move and make a late hit or rough up players just because it really happens .....why not if you are losing and want to smack someone who cares 15 yards or get ejected...
i remember a lomg time ago there was a football game that let you hit late it was fun...
they should let you pull a face mask or shove someone without a penalty it happens every sunday....i think it would make it more sim and more fun ...
they let you fight in hockey because it really happens even tho some people dont agree but it makes it fun.......i want to hit people out of bounds especially micheal vick..when he runs out like a biaaach.

would you maybe be thinking about a game called mutant league football??

i loved that game and played it all the time. you could hurt or even kill players, bribe the ref, kill the ref if he was biased towards a team, or just play a straight football game if you wanted to. the game was a bit out there at times but man was it a blast

Madden's graphics were never its selling point.
They've been substandard since the 16 bit era.
It was the gameplay that seperated the Madden series from the rest.
Having said that, it's the gameplay that killed it in the 32 bit era and it remains dead till this day.
So improving Madden's graphics, even above EA's standards means very little to me if the gameplay's still boring.

I say they have a talk with the 2k franchise...for some helpful hints it would be worth the money if only they had the balls to addmit they need help..but as long as people keep buying that junk they wont change...i think people buy into madden because the season is around the corner and they are eager to play some dam football thats how theyve got me in the past...but i will never buy there crap unless there is a miracle and they create a new engine and start from scratch..

fuck that idea

i say visual concepts slowly but surely develops new technology to use in their football game when the agreement gets lifted in 5 years so that their first game back in will blow every previous football game, not just EAs. let EA drown themselves in their stagnant state, sega helped them before and they stabbed them in the back. fuck them
