I want to run the kia firmware on my linksys WRT54GS router but i dont know if the firmware is compatible. is there anywhere i can find this out or can someone tell me?

Yes, there are several "aftermarket" fw's available that include the Xlink Kai engine built right into the config of the Linksys WRT54GS router.
I presently use HyperWRT which seems a bit buggy to me but there are plenty others out there. Sveasoft makes a few varieties but they charge for their better fw's...
Do a search here and on google and you'll find your answers...

I just put the latest hyperwrt (Oct 8, 2005 release) on my WRT54GS (v1) but since xlink has been down, I have not been able to test how well kai runs, but the hyperwrt firmware release seems solid.
I have heard bad things about kai and sveasoft. DD-WRT is supposed to be good but it was buggy on my router. Kaistation is probably the best bet for setting up and running kai, but its based off an older firmware.

you can just make sure u have v6 or lower of the wrt54gs, i have a v5 with dd-wrt micro running xlink kai. here is a tut i wrote once u install the dd-wrt firmware
