Hi, I just swapped my stock xbox HDD for a new 200GB HDD. I used evox HDD install to format the new drive. The drive works and boots up, however I am not noticing an size increase at all? Am I doing something wrong? XChip installed with evox v1.3 and evox dash.

hmm.. did you format the partitions? there shouldnt necessarily be "extra space" on the existing partitions, but extra partitions, "F" and maybe a "G"
DaCaptain
Thanks for the response ILLusions0fGrander. I used evox HDD installer which pretty much did it all automatically, the F: is present but shows "0" space available. There is no G: present when I FTP to the xbox. The drives I show while FTPing to the xbox are C:;D:;E:;F:;I:;X:;Y:;Z:. The following is copied from the evox.ini;

Info "Install HDD - Xbox-Scene"
Warning "This will format all drives"
Warning "Make sure you have a backup of C & E"
Progress "Formatting drives"

ConfigSector "\backup\disk.bin"
Format c:
Format e:
Format f:
Format x:
Format y:
Format z:

you have F and G enabled in your dashboard settings?

edit: on second thought.. i dont even think they would show up if they werent enabled... i dont know.. maybe someone else has the answer.

Yes ILLusions0fGrander, they are enabled. I found that G: was not enabled, I set it to yes in order to enable it, did a reboot and G: shows "0" space available as does F:. I took the drive back out of the box and I'm in the process of zeroing the entire drive with xhdprepa drive prep to see if that will help. I Will reformat after it is zeroed and post an update.

UPDATE: I tried zeroing the drive to see if that takes care of my problem, which took quite a while. Zeroing did not help at all. After doing some extensive research, reading posts and the like, I finally found out what my problem was. I had to boot into the Evox bios setup, go into the advanced bios settings and change the LBA MODE from NORMAL to LBA48. Saved the settings rebooted with the Evox HDD install cd and did a new drive install, worked like a charm. I now have F:. Thanks to all that loaned their support.
