hi, I try to install evox with slayer 2.6 auto installer evox on c:, xbox media player on e: and some app on e:

Before i try, I backup my x-box hdd with a second cd-rom with only evox, connect to my pc and ftp all data on my pc for be safe.

but now after the "evox" install, My xbox can't read nothing no dvd, , no evox cd-rw, no original x-box game and no x-box game dvd-r. And I am not in evox menu but with original x-box menu that tell my me cd is dirty or not redable.

My x-box is modshippped with xtender 1.1 bios

If original games won't boot with the modchip off, then your DVD drive needs to either be cleaned or have it's laser replaced.

but it happens just after my slayer install of evox, 2 mins before is working great and now not working at all

and I have no switch to turn my modship off

I've never heard of an Xtender bios, it's probably screwed up. Use Xecuter bioses, they have always worked great for me.

do you think I can unlock him on my pc, transfert my original x-box hdd backup and try to my x-box? must I lock him again? my bios dont support hdd swap

I have a question: Does SlaYer's still boot? If so, then your DVD drive is probably okay. So what error code are you getting?

My cd of slayer dont boot at all, the same message of all my cd/dvd look like : the disc is unreadable or dirty please insert another disc or something similar

cd-rom like slayer can boot without any hdd data ? I dont flash my xtender bios with another one, so I dont think that my mod-shipped bios the prob

If the MS Dash is working fine, then I would have to count out the hard drive, but I have seen two cases where the MS Dash works fine and other stuff loads extremely slow and it's the hard drive. But, in this case, I would have to go with the BIOS. What kind of modchip do you have?

a xtender 1.1 modship , one of the first modship available fore x-box and model 1.0 of x-box :-/

Yup, the Xtender was an old, 29-wire modchip and therefore probably can't be flash-ugraded. At least I'm pretty sure it can't, because I think most, if not all, first gen modchips can't be flashed again. I wish lordvader129 or Chancer would get in this forum to help you out, they would know more about this. I'll send them a PM and maybe they can help you more, they know a lot more than I do.

if you have a 1.0 that means you have a crappy thomson dvd drive, in which the laser has probably died

you can get a new laser on ebay for around 17 dollars, or find a new dvd drive

if yo ujust want to get evox installed you can piggyback a PC dvdrom drive, use a molex power splitter to power it and plug the IDE cable into the PC drive, leave th eyellow cable in your xbox drive and put a game in it, then put your evox cd in the PC drive and reboot the xbox, it should load your evox cd

The only thing I can't understand is way is stop to work 2 mins after I try to install evox, work "perfectly" before, read all my dvd-r and my original and now read nothing, reboot 12 time dont read more a single dvd

If I understand you correctly you have FTP access to xbox, you can install Evox
or anything else via ftp.
