Shit Is way too overpriced.. I liked the 300 pricepoint. I am even willing to go 350 like in japan..

Cause when you're big in Japan.. ooo.. Big in Japan.. Oh, the eastern sea so blue..
Shall I stay here Or go to the zoo?

400 is too much...
ensaynexotics
400 is fine, I just don't like the 2000 super bundle crap. if ur patient enough the price will come down to 350 or so in about a year, mayb even 300 flat who knows.....
xboxSlayer
I've been in the game a long time, $500 is still a lot, same as when a few others came out. I still got them because I'm a cronic, I have to have my games.
DivyX
Little over 400 eur isn't bad at all imo. I think it's basicly very cheap, and money doesn't grow on trees in my garden since i'm unemployed. I was thinking about getting new computer or xbox360. I choose xbox360 because i have to face the fact that the thing i'm really paying in new computer is the fact that i can and want to be able play latest and upcoming games. Given x360's hardware i'm very pleased for the price tag it has.
I checked one Finnish gaming site that listed some games to cost 69,- Eur and couple was also 79,- eur. I'd say that is VERY expensive. Games should be much cheaper and I trust that the prices i saw ain't gonna be final. Only morrowind is worth 69,- if it has well over 100 gaming houers.
wadata04
I think that the prices are over-priced and I will be waiting longer for the price to come down.
jamsplodge
I think it's crap that Japan gets what is essentially the premium package for $350 when US has to pay $399. I mean what's that all about? They should just do away with the core package and reduce ther price on the premium.

Shamone
eDeus
Paying extra money for things that you would buy anyway isnt hard to fathom.

I mean, a premium or core console is great but a demo disk or dashboard doesnt do it for me. Nor does playing one game over and over again.

Getting extra controller and a few games is great - if it saves a few dollars by buying them at once.

Buying 20 games and every possible addition becomes such an overkill especially when you consider 50% of the listed games wont make launch anyway.

I just wish MS had a PGR3 or Oblivion official bundle though. Nothing overkill, just a cool box that I would be proud to carry with me to the checkout. Down the street. Around to mates places. Well everywhere really smile.gif
JUANVAN
I would have to agree - that by making the prem. package the Only one in Japan and Cheaper is B.S. - But they know we are going to be getting them like crazy till the xmass season, and we are more then willing to pay the price, while in J.P. they are trying to win the market still and get more in the houses.

Also Just offering the one with the HD would have been Great..
350 for the Core system + a HD
400 Prem..
Or just get rid of the Core all together, would have made the game developers much happier too...
But I am sure there will be some games that have something on the back that they require the HD...

that’s my .02c

btw M$ Is only doing all this b/c the Evil Empire CAN!!
rainfever
I voted No, simply because i do not plan to pre-order, and i just want to walk into wal-mart or where ever and pick up my single xbox 360 Platinum...all on its lonesome
lordvader129
i think all those huge super bundles gamestop is selling is really funny, its not even any kind of bundled value, the price of th ebundle is just retail for each peice added up, you cna buy it all over the course of 3 months and pay the same, probably less as sure some of those games will flop and the price will drop quickly

...although i still find myself eyeballing the 700 dollar pack just becuase its what i would probably buy within the first few weeks anyway
C o s m o
The $400 tag is fine. The bundles are a joke.
Rubix42
I'm having a real hard time buying into the hype on this next-gen release. Granted the graphics are going to be much better, but the price of games going up, and paying $100 for a 40gb HD is just silly. The system is priced well, but the accessories are way too much.

Especially the $100 for the wireless adapter! My PSP has wireless and the entirew system was only $250
ILLusions0fGrander
only condition ill get xbox 360 is if i get 200 bucks for my extra softmodded xbox... then its justified... but in all honesty... i dont think its going to be that great... i mean... there are only half a dozen or so good games for xbox 1, single player that is... and another half dozen good live games... which is fine for $150 system... but xbox 360 has yet to super impress me, at least enough to warrant a 400 dollar purchase... with tax and a game... $500... lot of cash.
Owtlaw333
I think I'll just go to Costco and get whatever bundle THEY end up with... they usually charge like 75 bucks more and throw in an extra game and controller. I'd be content with that.
drbootleg
I'm just going to wait a while regardless of price. MS has been known, on the rarest of occasion, to rush things and leave a few bugs. *cough...thompson...cough*. Maybe a few months, then the premium bundle.
Brouhaha
That horsepower BS has really started to annoy me. Basically, we can chose from many overpriced bundles, all which offer nothing more than better graphics over current gen.

My current Xbox will remain in the living room for a few more years (thanks to XBMC, not gaming), with a revolution at it's side in due time...
raptor87
I think it really isnt that bad of a price. if you wanted a 512mb graphics card for your computer (which benchmarks show dosent really help) youd be spending $500 just for that.
pookiepoo
no way im i buyin 1 yet im in da uk shits always ova priced im waitin till it drops in price plus i like the idea of saving games 2 my hd on da 1st xbox. it saves a lot of space i can just put my games in a cupboard and ders no way ms is gonna make this option available on da 360.

my xbox can play all region dvds without the remote and shit

y buy a 360 for £300 dat ude havta buy a bleedin remote to watch dvds f*@k Dat

you cant even use your old xbox controllers in its and probably the same for your live headsets

its just a money making skam

different bundles laugh.gif

wait a little bit and it drops down in price...

wait a little bit longer it drops down in price dramatically, some one has found a way to mod it so it can be used to its full potential.

even if it cant be modded all the console vetrans should know it always drops down in price rotfl.gif

there should be a standard package which is at a reasonable price not a price your gonna feel pissed about payin a couple of months down the line.

ive been around consoles my whole life first one nes and im 19 so i am a fully pledged player but i dont believe that i should be conned out of money to do something i enjoy. and ms is a blatent con.

but they do make a wicked console though cool.gif beerchug.gif

great graphics, excellent online gaming and they are very inventive (soundtracks)

You dont need a remote to play dvd's that been stated already...plus your live headest will work as will any cell phone headset or pretty much any standard headset.

As for the xbox controllers you cant use those because of some new features with the new xbox..

but do as u want.

the bundles didn't "spoil" my enthusiasm, however i'm just planning on getting the premium pack and making my own bundle so to speak. i preordered perfect dark zero, madden 06, and doa4 back in the end of may at my local gamestop. i personally think 400 might seem a bit steep, but if you look at it, its a pretty good deal
mckenn88
i saw somewhere where it showed all of the opening prices of all of the video game consoles ever made and relatively the xbox360 has been one of the cheapest, but i still think it should be lower
Owtlaw333
It's called inflation.... shit happens, lol. 400 REALLY isn't that bad. PS2 and xbox were what, 300? when they first came out.... and so was PS1 wasn't it? So by todays standards, 400 seems right to me. You definately get a shit load more than what you did with that PS1 too (a controller and a console..... oh wait, sounds like the core pack, haha)
will1384
I wanted the first Xbox - but waited years till they came down in price,
this time will be no difference - there is no way in h3ll I am paying that
price - for that price it should give me som "love me long time" wub.gif

plus I expect it will take about a year and a half to "neuter"
the xbox 360 ph34r.gif

In the words of Ice Cube, "There's two things I don't pay for... water and pussy. ...cuz they're both free"

I have my 360 reserved and I can understand why MS did what they did. In the original xbox they had a ton of games made for it that didn't use the hd.. most of the games didn't have custom soundtracks and a lot of the ports didn't even cache to the damn thing.. So it was smart to cut it out for people who want to play all 40 need for speed iterations, but I think they'll definately harness the HD moreso than the PS3.. Sony sold off a single 80 gig for $100+ for one frigging game and had talked up all this support that turned into vaporware. I've worked in game retail for a few years and sony's business tactics frost my ass. They always shit on thier customers acting as if it was a priviledge to buy thier product and the sony reps where all stuck up arrogant assholes too. Micrsoft has a good plan going.. and I think an extra $100 is worth all the bundled stuff especially a slim 20gig drive.. I think people fail to realize that it's not a regular 5.25 IDE drive like in the last one, it's an ultra small drive that similar to whats in an ipod.. for portability sake.. It's so damn worth it. Funny thing is when I started working in game retail I was so pro-sony. I didn't buy an xbox till years after launch. I don't wanna screw up this time. Ok, well I said my piece.

$400 is too much for first gen anything. The bugs that tend to plague first release consoles is a constant. The only company to get it right almost every time is Nintendo, too bad they made such a horrible control this gen blink.gif

I have been saving some cash from the Xboxes I've been modding, but thats going toward a beefier PC. Its a pretty much guarantee that ill be playing most of the games slated for the 360 on my PC anyhow, aside from a very select few such as Halo3. I'll wait a year for the bundle to come down in price, and they have the library of games that draws my attention, ill buy in. If not, i will eventually get one, in the same way i collect all other platforms, when i can buy it in a pawn shop for $50.

400$ is fine for me, but the 2000$ bundles.... that is just simply retarded.
atomiX
I have no problem paying for the premium bundle. I do find the $1000+ " super-dooper-shit-in-your-pants" bundles that retailers make to be a little extreme though.
djbullfrog
I'm gonna take mine from the weakest kid on the playground. So, I hope they get the million dollar bundle. I hate having to upgrade shit I took. I'm kidding, I only weigh 90 pounds (soaking wet, wearing your mother's combat boots). I'm just gonna wait it out a little. Unless my compulsive buying habits throw me in the mix at the quadrillion dollar price point.
CattyKid
Nothing at all can sour my enthusiasm, in the slightest bit.

i was going to get a 360 day one but now that i seen the japanese price i am going to wait till someone cracks it, that is unless GTA 4 comes out for 360 too
Er0cK_11
Ill prolly wait a couple months b4 buying one.
whosyodaddy1019
I think most people are having a hard time understanding this poll. Its not about the price of the xbox360, its the fact that you HAVE to by like 2 games and 2 acc with it. I was pissed when I went into EB games to verify my order this friday. I had the premium package with another wireless controller and ghost recon 3 with it and they said that I need to fork out more dough for another game and accesory. Now the bill is up to 620 bucks. When I put my 360 on reseave when they first started to do it they never once mentioned that I would have to buy a bundle to get it. Even 2 weeks ago when I put the controller and GR3 they never mentioned that to me. What I though was funny was the excuss they gave me for having to buy more. They said it was to prevent me from selling it on ebay. How the h3ll is buying more sh!t for it suppost to stop someone from selling it on ebay. It just means they sell it for more. Besides why do they care if the person sells it on ebay or not. They got there money non the less. Im not selling mine but i dont like being forced to buy more stuff then I wanted to.

Ill wait till it's £99 and I have a hdtv

Yes, the bundles have been embarrassing - but expected. It does increase the hype and gain more attention, which is necessary for MS to have a chance against Sony.

However, I don't plan on buying an Xbox 360 until it can be modified or unlocked to do more than just play next-gen games and DVD movies. I am absolutely satisfied with my several xbox's used as home theater pcs throughout my home. And of course, my stock xbox for Halo 2 gaming. Now the release of Halo 3 may entice me to get a 360...
leijae
dude, i'm buying like six of those bundles....
Videogamebuyer14
The core bundle is essentially a very smart move on MS's part. Anyone in the know-how has already reserved the Premium bundle. The core bundle is going to be the one for the holiday that's left for preordering at the video game stores, and the parents are going to figure the kids will bitch if they don't get it, so they dish out an extra 300 or so on extra stuff to suit the half-assed package.
Dan Wysocki
I find these crazy bundles great. Sometimes find myself dreaming of owning a crazy package, but to be honest, I dont have the funds, nor the stupidness to go and buy one. Who wants 20+ games that you will never play? It makes no sense. I'm gonna do my best to raise the funds for a Premium Package by Dec 2nd, along with a couple of games, but you wont find me crying if I dont get one. I'm looking forward to the impressive graphics and improved AI that should come with this generation and if you ask me you get a hell of a deal for what you buy. The 360 itself, 3 x 3.2Ghz processors? I mean damn, you wont find that in any computer for the same price will you?

I think M$ has done well this time, the price is good, the hype is good and I'm looking forward to picking up one of those sexy silver machines as soon as I can.

beerchug.gif
Burgleflickle
I realize that m$ is losing money on selling these consoles, but $400+(premium bundle w/o extra controllers) is rediculous. I'll be waiting until prices come down to at least $300, or homebrews/cracks break it. MS already runs the world with wxp/2k/whatever else--I don't need to line old Bill's pockets with extra $$. After all, he makes a killing on games, and his company was founded on stealing Steve Jobs' ideas.

Don't get me wrong, I love XB, and the theory of what xb360 will be, but spending damn near $1000(gamestop bundles) on a game system and games is stupid--after all, I have a modded xb!!! Remember the hype, and slight let down of halo 2??? We don't even know for sure whether or not the machine will be bottlenecked by not having hd-dvd.

Just my $0.02. Take it easy!

Things are always over priced, I'm waiting until it drops in price plus I like the idea of saving games to my HD on the first Xbox.  It saves a lot of space, I can just put my games in a cupboard and there's no way MS is going to make this option available on the 360.

My Xbox can also play all region dvds without the remote and the dongle.

Why buy a 360 for £300 that you'd have to buy a remote for to watch DVDs? Fuck that!

edwinmcdunlap
I think the huge bundles are just crazy... 400 is almost too much for me, but I'm going to get it anyway.
sha
Its pretty lame there is not just one bundle and just make it easier for developers use a hard drive it will fix the cache problems or some type to remedy this. I am not going to buy one for a long time until they fix this problem. I did not buy PS2 for this reason. Load times? In 2006 what the fuck? Take me back to my Atari I never had to wait for a game to load.
syntaxerror329
I think $500 is a deal. Don't they lose money on every system they sell at that price and then hope to make it up in game sales?

It is overpriced and I am sour. What MS does not seem to understand is that the Japanese care mostly about having the newest gadgets - not just great graphics, but great graphics with bells and whistles. If they wanted to do well in Japan, gotta add a standard HD or blu-ray reader, gigabit lan, and 1080P. Sony knows how to sell to their people. MS should at least work on keeping its American crowd. However, my American ass is put off by MS's marketing and pricing like many Americans. I'm a big xbox fan. PS2 specs can't compare with original xbox specs. That's not at all the case between this next generation of consoles. I will equally consider the PS3 and xbox 360 specs and price (and the way its going PS3 will probably win) a while after launch; eventually I will buy one. Being an xbox fan, if the 360 were $300-350 for a premium system there is a good chance I wouldn't be able to wait out the war. Time will tell which the best buy, and the modding capabilities will have a huge effect on my choice. I feel more like they stripped stuff from what should be a base xbox 360 to make a "core" system rather than adding stuff to create a premium system; then they raised the price of what should be the standard 360.
