i have an aladdin xt ordered and my box is a 1.4 or 1.5 and the chip says Evox M8 BIOS (LBA48-06/IGR) i wondered if that bios was ok for my xbox or if i need to flash it a new bios if so what bios and can i do it off a disk as i do not have a crossover cable or xbox to usb connector????

The Bios you have will be fine but read this guide if you get into trouble as it tells you how to do it step by step. http://www.hackdabox.com/Aladdin_Flashing.html.

Check the modchip tables on website for complete bios compatibilty for
all chips on gods green earth.

GUIDES which would probably answer all your questions.

Aladdins use 256kb size bios, if you flash with Evox though then size doesn't matter since it will resize it for your. The Bios you have will work with it, no need to reflash unless you want an F/G partition setup, then you will need to flash it with a .67 bios as apposed to a .06 which only make one big F: partition..

Now if it comes flashed with EVOX M8_16 then you will need to reflash it since its for 1.6 xboxes only...
