I have a Duox2, but it is really loose on the pinheader and has to be positioned just right in order to work. I'm considering connecting a small wire from the male pinheader on the LPC to the chip itself. Will this work? By doing this there will be no turning back, so I need to know for sure if it will work.

You need to remove the solder from the female pinheader and then push it firmly onto the duox2 chip and keep constant pressure on it whilst you solder the female pinheader on. If the female pinheader is solderdd onto the duox2 properly it will not be loose at all ! Clean up the solder first using solder wick / solder braid and then keep it firmly in place and dont move it at all while the solder turns solid !

Ps also have a look at how well the male headerpin connects to the motherboard lpc area !
