I dont think you can say theyt have the best team in the AL. If they did they wouldnt have lost the division. This isn't last years team. They let all their pitching go, remember? And the one guy they do still have is hurting. I'm not sure any part of Bostons gameis better then Chicagos. Chicagos hit more HRs, (With a less homer friendly ball park). They can also play small ball much better, have more speed, play better defense. And then you get to the pitching side of things and Chicago definately has a better pen and better starters. I can't look at Boston and think of any reason they should be winning. No offense to him, but when your best pitcher is a guy who throws the ball and has no idea where it's going to go, well that's not inspiring.

Rylinkus- I ment they have the best hitting lineup in the AL meybe tied with the Yankees. They (Boston) has so many weapons they could use agenst you. Manny is the best "clean up" guy in the AL he gets you a ton of RBI's and HR's but also he's a smart hitter dosn't always swing for the fences like David Ortiz. Johnny Damon is in the top 5 IMO of leadoff hitters in baseball the guy gets on base alot. One thing people have to understand about the '05 Redsox compared to the '04 ones they had Pedro Marteniez (spelling) still, thats a huge arm to lose.

Oct 7 2005, 01:46 AM
Well Ortiz def. hits for average. And they lost Lowe as well who was lights out last year in the playoffs. And Schill ain't right. And Foulkes not there.
Add to that the White Sox ain't that bad. They have more HRs then Boston. They have good hitters. Perzynskis good. Konerkos good. Rowands good. Posednik hits well and is very fast. They're just a very good team with a bunch of guys people dont give enough credit to. They had a bad last month, but even as such you dont accidently finish with the best record in the American League. I'm sorry to Red Sox fans, all the guys I work with love Boston, but there simply out matched. And I dont think they have a chance in hell.

It means you actually have to be good to make the playoffs. Sports where they invite half the league are stupid. You won 4 out of 10 games? Ok, you're in....
Redsox are in their pen now. I'd say this is over.

that ump was giving bad calls to the sox all night, so he gives one good call and everyone bitches
aj said he thought he was out but figured hes got nothign to lose by running, why couldnt the catcher be thinking the same thing? "hes out, but i got nothing to lose by tagging him"

Very true I never looked at that, Sportsnet and TSN (both Canadian) were showing inning by inning calls by him (ump) and he did the same fist pump for out calls so I am torn between this one. I would have called it a deal ball and then let him finish his at bat. Thats just my 2 cents anyway
Rylinkus
Oct 14 2005, 11:04 PM
The fist pumping stuff is irrelevant. Neither AJ nor Josh could see it. So AJ thought the ball hit the dirt and ran and Paul thought he caught it and tossed it. MY thing is this; play every single play til you have no doubt that it's over. Whether it be football, baseball, polo, whatever. It would have taken nothing to toss the ball to first or tag AJ. I put this on Josh Paul.

Yeah the Cards were down and out, after Lance Berkman's 3 run shot I thought the Cards were done but then the Astros fell apart in the top of the 9th and Albert Polus (spelling) hit a monster shot. Albert played awsome in the 9th 2 put outs and a monster shot. If I was building a team I would pick him for sure. I hope the Cards win on Wednesday Roy Oswalt vs. Mark Mulder should be a great pitiching match.

No one wants to see the killer B's in a series? Come on, Biggio's been playing for about 50 years. Come on, no one cares about St. Louis. Am I the only person who simply doesn't are about anyone on St Louis. I mean, I know Pujols is a great great player, but no one really cares about him. He's not on the Superstardom level.
Plus as a Yankees fan Id hope itd send a message to NY to see all these guys they didnt try harder to get back in the series. Contreras, El Duque, Pettitte, Clemens.....
