Hi, I have a v1.6A xbox and have tried installing the DuoX3 modchip using the pin header method. Now my xbox is already chipped with the SmartXX V2 chip and works fine with that. However, when I plonked the DuoX3 chip onto the pin header and soldered all 4 wires (BT, L1, L2, D0) to the pads on the top of the chip and plugged the power cord into the back of the box, the xbox automatically turned itself on without me pressing the power button, did the triple reboot and then started fragging with no video. No led's are seen to be flashing on the chip itself either like its supposed to.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Chris.

If the xbox is powering On by itself then you must have done some damage to BT connetion on the xbo or its being grounded somehow..

thanks for that. I wouldn't have known otherwise. I tried the alternate BT point on the bottom of the mobo but still no luck. It still powers on by iteslf as soon as I plug the power lead in.

Never mind. I've got it working now! The only thing is, it's not detecting the games on my hard drive. Must be because its an old bios on the chip or something. Now onto reflashing it!

Hooray - I've managed to flash my Duo X3 chip. If anyone has one of these chips and they want to flash it, simply burn the Spiderchip Reflash CD that you can get off xbins to a CDRW or a DVD-R, boot your xbox and load up the cd. You will then be taken to the Spiderhip main menu screen and then just folllow the instructions to flash your Duo X3 chip. Works a doddle. Just remember to have your switch set to the correct bank when flashing and select the right bios for the chip. The CD contains a hex edited version of evox m8_1.6 for 1.6 xbox's and I don't know what it contains for versions 1.0-5. Hope that helps everyone out there.

I think the HackDaBox Spiderchip Reflash cd just might contain the X2 4981.06 bios for XBOX V1.0 - V1.5 which supports large hard drives with one big F: drive !
Yes the HackDaBox Reflash Cd or the HackDaBox Spiderchip Reflash Cd oth support the DuoX3 chips !
