I tried to pre-order one today (11/04/2005) and every store in town and seemingly everywhere online is "out of stock" for pre-orders. So, I guess I'm gonna have to do like everyone else and camp out at wal-mart.

if you cant be bothered, just go in a few days after launch, and ask them when their next shipment is coming in. odds are there will be tons more in the second shipment

Well, I could go in but... I don't think it'd be entirely wise for me to shell out $500+ right now just for a 360. Sure, it'd be cool to say I got one the first day it came out and all that... Buuuut oh well, the more I think about it... the more I realize that I'm quite happy and content with my original sexbox and wonder what good a 360 would do me right this very minute? None really... at least not much good since I wouldn't be able to afford very many games to go with it. :/ Soooo I guess I will probably just wait til after Christmas and I'm sure by then there will be a slight drop in prices anyways...

Probably not until after the first of the year or closer to the PS3 release.

don't worry devonator... you don't NEED an HDTV...
the xbox360 will look better on an HDTV but what you have should work jsut fine... unless you want all your games and crap to be in ULTRA SUPER HIGH DEFINITION!!
personally it's not the looks that i go for... *cough* but you wouldn't be able to tell that if you saw my gf:D

I did not pre-order, but I bought one the first day. I didn't camp outside a store for 12 hours like an idiot. No offense to anyone that did, but that's not my idea of a good time. I just tested my luck by walking into eb during lunch the next day and asking for one. I don't have any "hook-ups" or anything like that either. The guy at the register just wasn't as observant as he should have been. That's why he never asked for proof of a pre-order. Go figure. I got the regular 360 not the core system. Why do I call it the regular 360? Because it came with a hard drive just like the previous model.

i did, canceled it cuz i found out it was gunna be like 150$ more then they said. Then i bought a PSP. lol, im glad i did that cuz my would have broken, i know it. Waiting for the PS3.
