hi everyone, n00b here, awesome site hopefully someone could help me out. well been searching and reading for a couple of days now and cant find the problem. my xbox doesnt come on, it does a pop sort of when it is plugged in. so i took out the psu got the directions off of here and looked at the solders on the psu and they seemed fine. so maybe it was the cord, took that cord and tried it on a different box and it worked fine. tried a known good cord off another xbox to test on the bad xbox and same thing, slight pop and no power. there are no smells no burns just a slight pop. well i took the psu out again and desoldered the solders that were supposed to be check like i saw on some of the threads and resoldered them. put it back together and still no power, still pops. so finally i cut the cord and soldered it straight to the psu, just pops. very frustrated, someone please guide me in the right direction. any help is much appreciated.

update:
took apart two different xboxes to swap out psu and voila, found one that fits. and found the problem. bad psu for some reason, no burns, marks, smells. anyways, looking for working v1.0 psu, please let me know if u have one laying around. thanks

Have a look on Ebay theres usually loads of spares knocking about.

Also, you could use this if you don't want to use an auction.

thanks for the replies, i found that the bad psu is a minebea. theyre supposed to be good? the xbox was a refurbished one.
